Federal Bank Kochi Marathon Honours Asian Games Medalist Vidarsha

Kochi: Vidarsha K. Vinod, the Malayali athlete who brought pride to the nation by winning a silver medal in shooting at the Asian Games, was honoured by the Federal Bank Kochi Marathon. Justice Devan Ramachandran and Kochi Mayor Adv. V.K. Minimol felicitated the athlete at the event announcing the fifth edition of the marathon.

In recognition of her historic sporting achievement, CleoSportz, the organiser of the Federal Bank Kochi Marathon, presented Vidarsha with a cash prize of ₹51,000. The cheque was handed over by Federal Bank Zonal Head and Senior Vice President C.M. Sasidharan, along with CleoSportz Directors Anish Paul, Byju Paul, Sabari R. Nair and M.R.K. Jayaram.

A native of Thiruvambady in Kozhikode, Vidarsha is the first Malayali woman to win an Asian Games medal in shooting. She won the silver medal in the women’s 10m air rifle team event.

“It is a great privilege for the Kochi Marathon to honour an athlete who has brought pride to the nation through her sporting achievement. Vidarsha’s historic performance at the Asian Games is a fitting embodiment of the Federal Bank Kochi Marathon’s message—to move forward with a clear sense of purpose,” said CleoSportz Directors Anish Paul, Byju Paul, Sabari R. Nair and M.R.K. Jayaram.
