Collective Studios’ Historyverse, Galleri5 and Singhasari Partner to Develop Indonesian Stories for Global Audiences

Indonesia–India collaboration aims to build original film and series IP, combining studio expertise, India-developed creative technology and Indonesian creative talent to bring local stories to global audiences.

Collective Studios’ Historyverse, the original-IP and studio business within Collective Artists Network; Galleri5, a frontier AI technology company within the Collective ecosystem, building production platforms for cinema and creative industries; and Singhasari Special Economic Zone announced a strategic collaboration to develop original Indonesian stories for film and series, with the ambition of bringing them to audiences worldwide.

The collaboration will focus on stories rooted in Indonesia’s cultural heritage, including mythology, fantasy, history and animation. The initiative will bring together Indonesian creative talent and cultural expertise with Collective Studios’ original IP development capabilities and Galleri5’s India-developed technology and production workflows.

Airlangga Hartarto, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs and Chairman of the National Council for Special Economic Zones, Republic of Indonesia, commented, “Artificial intelligence is a game-changer for Indonesia’s economic transformation. Indonesia does not intend to be a spectator or a mere consumer in the AI race; we intend to help shape it. Special Economic Zones allow us to turn that ambition into real productivity, skilled jobs for our young people and new sources of growth on the path to 8 per cent. Partnership with India, a fellow digital powerhouse of the Global South, makes that journey faster and stronger.”

H.E. Shri Sandeep Chakravorty, Ambassador of India to Indonesia, said, “For more than a thousand years, the Ramayana and the Mahabharata have lived in Indonesia’s temples, its wayang and its imagination. Today, India and Indonesia are writing the next chapter of that shared story with artificial intelligence. Prime Minister Narendra Modi called our new initiatives a ‘golden chapter’ in India–Indonesia relations, and this Corridor carries that spirit into the creative economy: Indian technology and Indonesian talent co-creating stories the world will want to watch. From IIM Bangalore’s planned campus to today’s partnerships, Singhasari is becoming a natural meeting point for our two nations. We look forward to welcoming Indonesia’s creators to WAVES 2027 in Mumbai.”

KRAT David Santoso KR, CEO, Lokanima & Singhasari Special Economic Zone, said, “Eight centuries ago, on the very land where SSEZ stands today, the Kingdom of Singhasari was a centre of engineering, art, learning and statecraft, a civilisation enriched by centuries of exchange with India. Today, with our partners from India, we are bringing that history back to life, this time by mastering the AI transformation. Our aim is to build new competitiveness for Indonesia in the new-technology and digital-content subsectors, with Indonesian talent and IP at its heart.”

Galleri5 is a frontier AI technology company developing production platforms for cinema and the wider creative industries. Its flagship product, G5 AI Studio, brings together over 200 leading AI models with specialised workflows for storyboarding, character and world design, animation, VFX and cinematic video production. The technology has also been used to produce more than 10,000 advertisements and videos, demonstrating its application across a range of creative and commercial content.

The collaboration builds on Collective Artists Network and Galleri5’s experience in pioneering AI-native entertainment production in India. Mahabharat: Ek Dharmayudh was launched by JioStar and Collective Media Network for Star Plus and JioHotstar, with Galleri5 developing and deploying the AI filmmaking technology and production pipelines behind the series. The company is also developing workflows for Collective Studios’ Historyverse theatrical slate, including Chiranjeevi Hanuman – The Eternal and Krishna.

Vijay Subramaniam, Founder & Group CEO, Collective Artists Network, said, “The next global entertainment franchises will not all come from Hollywood. Every market has stories that deserve to travel further, and Indonesia has an extraordinary wealth of them. Our ambition with Collective Studios’ Historyverse is to work with Indonesian creators to develop these stories into films, series and larger entertainment properties for the world. Galleri5 gives us a new way to approach the scale of filmmaking, while the creative vision and the stories themselves remain at the centre.”

These production experiences provide a foundation for refining Galleri5’s technology through real creative and production challenges. For Indonesian creators, the collaboration offers an opportunity to combine locally led storytelling and original IP with technology designed to expand the scale and possibilities of production.

Rahul Regulapati, Founder & CEO, Galleri5 and Partner, Collective Artists Network, said, “The next generation of global cinema will be built on a very different technology foundation. At Galleri5, we’re building that foundation with G5 AI Studio, bringing frontier AI models and filmmaking workflows into one platform. We’ve already demonstrated what this technology can do through films and television in India. Now, together with Indonesia’s extraordinary creative talent and Collective’s studio capabilities, we have an opportunity to take locally rooted stories to audiences around the world.”

The first concept under discussion is Echoes of Nusantara (working title), an original mythology-adventure project. Collective Studios’ Historyverse will lead creative development, studio production and IP packaging, working with Indonesian creative talent to shape projects for potential financing, production and international distribution.

Singhasari will help connect the initiative with Indonesian creators, studios, potential investors, distributors and relevant creative-economy institutions, supporting the development of local partnerships and pathways to market.
