Kochi: South Indian Bank (SIB) today announced the launch of the RuPay Contactless SIB Paytag Sticker, an innovative NFC (Near Field Communication) enabled payment instrument designed to deliver a faster, secure and frictionless payment experience to customers. The compact NFC enabled sticker can be conveniently affixed to personal accessories such as mobile phones, wallets or cardholders, enabling customers to make quick tap-and-pay transactions at contactless Point-of-Sale (POS) terminals without the need to carry a physical debit card.
SIB Paytag Sticker supports contactless payments for everyday transactions, with no PIN required for purchases up to ₹5,000/-, making it ideal for frequent, low-value spends such as transit, cafés, fuel stations and grocery stores. For higher-value POS transactions above ₹5,000/-, PIN authentication is mandatory, ensuring enhanced security. SIB Paytag can be used at all contactless POS terminals, and customers can also make online e-commerce payments using the SIB Paytag Sticker by securely viewing the card number, expiry date and CVV through the SIB Mirror+ app.

SIB Paytag Sticker carries a domestic purchase transaction limit of up to ₹1,00,000/- per day for POS and e-commerce transactions. Contactless POS transactions are permitted up to ₹5,000/- per transaction without PIN, with a maximum of five such transactions per day, while transactions above ₹5,000/- and up to ₹1,00,000/- require PIN authentication. ATM withdrawals are not available using SIB Paytag Sticker.
