Mumbai, March 10th: The Budapest University of Technology and Economics (BME), one of Europe’s long-established technical universities with a history spanning over 240 years, is strengthening its outreach to Indian students pursuing engineering and technology education.
BME is recognised internationally for its strong academic standards, research focus, and long-standing contribution to engineering and applied sciences. The university appears in major global and European rankings across engineering and technology disciplines.
The university offers a wide range of English-taught bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral programmes in fields including civil engineering, computer science, electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, and chemical engineering, enabling international students to pursue European higher education in a multicultural academic environment.
Budapest has increasingly become an attractive destination for international students, offering a safe and student-friendly environment, along with tuition fees and living costs that are comparatively lower than many Western European, US, Canadian, and Australian study destinations. This makes studying in Europe more accessible for Indian families seeking high-quality engineering education abroad.
Commenting on the growing engagement with India, as university spokesperson, Vice-Rector for International Affairs András Nemeslaki said:
“India has a large number of ambitious engineering students whose aspirations align strongly with the academic strengths of BME. Students can benefit from a globally recognised European qualification, practical project-based learning, and international exposure within a campus community that includes students from over thirty countries.”
Through its India-focused outreach, BME plans to strengthen collaboration with education counsellors and institutional partners, particularly across East and South India, while also highlighting the academic journeys of Indian students currently studying at the university in Budapest.
