MUMBAI — September 29, 2025 — Canva today announced the global expansion of Canva AI, its groundbreaking conversational creative partner introduced in April 2025. Canva AI now offers design generation via a conversational interface in 17 languages, empowering users with greater accuracy and cultural context and making it easy to scale any idea with AI.
What’s new
As conversational AI becomes the dominant interface for creative work, Canva is positioning itself as the platform where language is no barrier to bringing ideas to life. The multilingual rollout of Canva AI empowers more of the world to achieve their goals with AI:
16 new languages: Canva AI is now available in 16 languages beyond English: Arabic, Chinese, Dutch, French, German, Hindi, Indonesian, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Polish, Portuguese, Spanish, Thai, Turkish, and Vietnamese.
31 new locales: Not only can users create with AI in-language, but outputs respect local conventions and draw from Canva’s diverse library of globally adaptable design assets.
This milestone significantly extends the impact of Canva’s creative AI, enabling millions of creators, businesses, educators and beyond to design at the speed of conversation in their native language.
Canva AI combines Canva’s generative tools in one intuitive interface to help anyone create instantly—no design expertise needed. Users can simply tell Canva AI what they want to create using text or voice, whether they’re brainstorming ideas, mapping out campaigns, or designing materials.
“The majority of our 240 million users work in a language other than English,” said Cameron Adams, co-founder and Chief Product Officer at Canva. “A huge part of what makes Canva so loved around the world is the attention we put into making it a truly local product. Generative AI is now a foundational part of making design accessible, so making sure it is also culturally relevant is a huge part of making sure that our design generation technology can benefit everyone in the world and help them achieve their goals in ways that weren’t possible before.”
Canva also announced the launch of its Canva World Tour, a month-long celebration of creativity, learning, and community with hands-on training and events reaching millions worldwide.
Building design-intelligent AI
As part of Canva’s strategy to offer truly localized product and content in every market, Canva AI now has a greater understanding of cultural context, design preferences, and communication styles specific to different regions and languages. It represents a significant technical feat as Canva integrates more of its robust content library for use in AI outputs.
This update represents Canva’s commitment to true accessibility in the AI era. While other tools offer siloed or technically complex workflows, Canva AI unifies the entire creative workflow in a single, accessible interface that now speaks users’ languages literally and figuratively. It’s directly connected with Canva’s easy-to-use design editor and Visual Suite, making it simple for anyone to take their AI outputs through the last mile of adding a personal touch and publishing on any platform, all without leaving Canva.
Growing demand for AI on Canva
Canva’s AI tools have now been used over 20 billion times, with Canva AI emerging as one of Canva’s fastest growing products since its introduction at Canva Create in April 2025. This comes as Canva surpasses 240 million global users and $3.3 billion in annualized revenue.
