Mumbai, 23rd December 2025 | EiPi Media today announced a licensing partnership with Pran’s Features LLP and Toonz Media Group to create branded, AI-powered microfilms and digital content featuring two of India’s most enduring fictional characters, Chacha Chaudhary and Sabu. The move reflects a clear shift in how Indian intellectual property is being built, experienced, and monetised for a digital-first world.
Pran’s Features LLP, the copyright owner and custodian of Chacha Chaudhary, has licensed EiPi Media to develop AI-driven,short-form animated content for branded applications, while preserving the original humour, values, and visual identity created by the late Cartoonist Pran Kumar Sharma.
At a strategic level, the initiative sits at the intersection of three forces already in motion: the unrealised commercial potential of legacy Indian IP, a production ecosystem with deep animation and storytelling expertise, and AI-native content creation that can now deliver cinematic realism at marketing scale and speed, ultimately strengthening brand presence across digital platforms.
The content is engineered for high engagement and broad digital reach, making it well-suited for brand integration and social media distribution. The effort aims to introduce Chacha Chaudhary to new-age digital audiences while strengthening the character’s presence across branded and platform-native ecosystems.
Speaking on the partnership, Rohit Reddy, Founder and CEO of EiPi Media, said, “This collaboration marks a bold step forward in unlocking the true potential of India’s timeless legacy IP. Chacha Chaudhary and Sabu are cultural treasures that have inspired generations with their wit, heart, and problem-solving spirit. By harnessing AI, we’re not just modernizing them – we’re creating hyper-realistic, emotionally resonant stories that brands can authentically integrate into, delivering experiences at digital speed. Our goal is to keep the characters’ original charm and values intact while making them active participants in today’s fast-moving, story-driven digital world. This is about building long-term narrative value that resonates across platforms and generations.”
Speaking on the association, Nikhil Pran, Director, Pran’s Features LLP, said, “Chacha Chaudhary has always evolved with time, from print to television and now to AI-powered animation. Partnering with EiPi Media allows us to embrace new technology while remaining faithful to the essence of a character loved by generations. Created by my father, Chacha Chaudhary and Sabu became part of everyday cultural literacy across age, language, and geography, and that universality is what makes the IP meaningful today. This step thoughtfully extends our legacy”.
Viswanath Rao from Toonz Media Group added, “We are enthusiastic to bring Chacha Chaudhary and Sabu into a new AI-powered era in a way that is visually striking yet emotionally faithful. For the first time, these characters are being reimagined as hyper realistic, expressive AI personas built for digital-first platforms. EiPi Media is creating a narrative universe where they move beyond static frames into performance-driven experiences. The focus is on realism, continuity, and control, avoiding both dated animation formats and shallow AI novelty, while allowing the characters to evolve without losing who they are.”
The objective is fidelity with progression. The visual identity, humour, and values remain anchored in cartoonist Pran’s original creation, while the medium adapts to contemporary content consumption.
This partnership is built on a simple insight: Brands no longer win by placing messages inside content anymore. They win by becoming part of stories people actually choose to watch. EiPi Media is developing a flexible narrative system in which Chacha Chaudhary and Sabu operate naturally, without forced endorsements or tonal breaks. Planned outputs include branded short-form films, brand-led narrative campaigns, and seamless branded IP integrations across digital platforms.
In crowded digital environments, Chacha Chaudhary and Sabu offer the trust and familiarity of a legacy IP paired with a contemporary cinematic language. Designed to move fluidly across platforms, formats, and campaigns, the characters provide continuity in an otherwise fragmented attention economy. EiPi Media’s focus is on long-term narrative value and cultural relevance, positioning the duo not as revived icons, but as living participants in the future of storytelling.
This chapter is powered by AI but defined by how intelligently it is used to scale meaning, emotion, and trust.
