From young children taking their first steps into the world of running to senior citizens proving that age is no barrier, the event brought together people from all walks of life. The sight of participants running in sarees, a runner aged over 90 years taking on the challenge, and visually impaired and other differently abled participants joining the run made the day especially inspiring. Every participant had a story, every stride carried a purpose, and together, they made Namma Run much more than a sporting event.
The second edition of News18 Kannada Namma Run Bengaluru was graced by Tejasvi Surya, Member of Parliament, Bengaluru South; Ajay Singh, Minister for Minor Irrigation, Government of Karnataka; and Sreeram, actor known for Preemada Oralli. Their presence added to the excitement of an event that celebrated not just physical fitness, but also determination, inclusion and the power of community.
With over 10,000 participants taking to the course, the event showcased the many faces of Bengaluru’s running community. Participants arrived with their own motivations, some aiming to test their endurance, others running to stay healthy, and many simply looking to be part of a memorable community experience. The runners in sarees brought a distinctive cultural touch to the occasion, while the participation of a runner aged over 90 served as a remarkable reminder that the spirit of fitness has no age limit.

While the longer-distance categories brought together runners ready to challenge their endurance, the shorter-distance runs saw families, parents and young children participate enthusiastically. For many children, it was an opportunity to experience the excitement of a large-scale running event for the first time, with their families cheering them on every step of the way. The sight of parents and children running together captured the essence of Namma Run, making fitness an enjoyable, shared experience that brings generations closer.
Their overwhelming participation and support made this edition truly memorable, and the event looks forward to welcoming everyone back next year for an even bigger celebration of the running spirit.
