“I want a vodka that is Indian and World Class” Ranveer Singh’s ambition for India’s drinking culture in his latest interview

From acting to entrepreneurship, there’s nothing that Powerhouse Ranveer Singh has ever shied away from. In a recent interview with Sarah Jane Dias, the actor, also the Co-Founder and Creative Partner at ABD Maestro shared learnings from his successful journey in growing India’s rapidly premiumising alcohol beverage space.

Speaking about his entrepreneurial foray with ABD Maestro, a super-premium and luxury brands subsidiary of Allied Blenders & Distillers, Ranveer described the partnership as a meeting of complementary strengths. “I think this is a power move, if I may say so,” he shared. “It’s a coming together of their business acumen and my creativity. Whenever two forces like that come together, it always leads to something very productive and positive.”

Raising the bar for India’s premium spirits

ABD Maestro has been steadily building a premium spirits house for this new-age consumer.

For Ranveer, premiumisation is about raising the bar at every touchpoint. “Premiumisation, to me, is levelling up in every which way—from the design to the taste,” he said. Ranveer’s creative ambition aligns closely with India’s broader purchase behaviour, where consumers are increasingly choosing to drink less but better — seeking quality, design, storytelling, and cultural resonance.

Ranveer’s Top Pick – Showcasing India’s world-class Indian vodka

On his top picks from ABD Maestro’s ambitious premium spirits portfolio, the actor favoured RANGEELA Contemporary Indian Vodka as his personal favourite, stating “It is vibrant. It’s technicolour. It is basically a really, really bomb vodka. We wanted a vodka that is Indian but truly world-class—something we’re very, very proud of.”

Ranveer likes the solitude too

Reflecting a more introspective side, he notes, “I have a very quiet side, reticent side. I enjoy ruminating over life, which calls for something like WOODBURNS Indian Whisky. And I’m very proud to report that it’s sweeping awards internationally.”

What’s Next for Ranveer?

Looking ahead, the journey is only gathering momentum. “The journey ahead is going to be very exciting,” Ranveer shared. “We are planning collaborations that will really surprise people — limited editions, culture pop-ups, everything from playlists to party rituals. We don’t want to follow trends, we want to set them, and this is just the beginning. From here on, it’s going to be bang, bang — blockbuster.”, he shared.
