Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences (SUAS), Indore, marked a momentous day on Saturday, 19th July 2025, as it hosted its annual Induction Ceremony 2025 and inaugurated the iFactory Network Lab, a key milestone in promoting digital manufacturing and skill-based education.
The day’s celebrations were graced by Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya, Hon’ble Minister of Urban Development & Housing and Parliamentary Affairs, Government of Madhya Pradesh, as the Chief Guest. In his keynote address, he praised the university’s commitment to developing industry-ready professionals and emphasized the growing relevance of skill-based education aligned with Industry 4.0.
As part of the day’s events, Shri Kailash Vijayvargiya also inaugurated the iFactory Network Lab at SUAS. This state-of-the-art facility has been established under the Ministry of Heavy Industries’ Capital Goods Scheme (Phase II). The Centre is implementing it for the Industry 4.0 Lab in Pune.
The lab is part of a national initiative to promote innovative and sustainable manufacturing and will act as a regional hub for digital transformation, offering:
- Hands-on training for students and industry professionals
- Pilot project support
- Digital maturity assessments for industries, especially MSMEs
This iFactory center is one of 10 such labs being launched across India to enable region-specific adoption of Industry 4.0, supporting the government’s vision of a digitally enabled, future-ready manufacturing ecosystem.
The event also featured key dignitaries:
- Shri Debashish Chakravorty, Executive Vice President, Piramal Pharma Solutions, as Distinguished Guest
- Shri Pradip Kopardekar, Director, Kirloskar Management Services Pvt. Ltd. and Centre for Industry 4.0 Lab, Pune, as Special Guest
- Dr. Anuradda Ganesh, Chairperson, PRMC, Director & Chief Technical Advisor, Cummins India, as Special Guest
Dr. Swati Mujumdar, Pro-Chancellor, Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, Indore, and Symbiosis Skills and Professional University, Pune, and Prof. (Dr.) Vinith Kumar Nair, Vice Chancellor, Symbiosis University of Applied Sciences, welcomed the guests and students. Dr. Mujumdar shared the university’s vision of empowering students with practical learning, global exposure, and innovation-driven education.
The induction ceremony concluded with an overview of the university’s ecosystem, a campus tour led by students.
