National, 05th March 2026: JD Institute of Fashion Technology has announced its partnership with Dunes College, which has acquired a JD franchise to launch professional design courses in the region, reaffirming its dedication to growing high-quality design education throughout India.
With this expansion, JD Institute brings its industry-focused, nationally recognized design education model to Kutch, one of India’s most culturally rich regions, renowned for its traditional artistry, textiles, embroidery, and handicrafts. The program is a reflection of JD Institute’s broader goal of providing aspiring designers outside of major cities with organized, modern design education.
Kutch’s legacy of craftsmanship has long been a source of inspiration within India’s design landscape. Through this collaboration, JD Institute aims to provide students in the region with access to modern design knowledge, professional mentorship, industry exposure, and career pathways while encouraging them to reinterpret their cultural heritage through contemporary design practices.
The programs offered under the JD franchise will follow JD Institute’s academic framework, blending conceptual learning with practical application, industry interaction, and portfolio development. Students will benefit from exposure to evolving design trends, technology integration, and entrepreneurship guidance ensuring they are equipped to build sustainable careers in the creative industries.
By establishing a stronger presence in Kutch, JD Institute continues to strengthen India’s creative ecosystem bridging traditional craft knowledge with structured professional training.
Speaking on the expansion, Rinesh Dalal, Director of JD Institute of Fashion Technology, said: “At JD Institute, our aim has always been to democratize design education and make it accessible to talent from all regions. Kutch is a region that has immense creative potential, and this is reflected in the crafts practiced in this region. We are very proud to take our programs to the aspiring designers in this region and help them translate their rich heritage into modern-day design expressions.”
Adding to this, Mrs. Jyotiba Mandeepsinh Jadeja, Campus Director of Dunes College stated: “The arrival of professional design programs at JD Institute of Fashion Technology is a major achievement for Kutch. Students of Kutch can pursue quality design programs without having to move out of the region. Not only will it help students of Kutch grow professionally, it will also encourage young minds to take inspiration from Kutch’s rich cultural heritage and mold it into new opportunities for growth.”
