National, 30th September 2025: For every Kolkatan, Durga Pujo is more than a festival – it is the city coming alive in colour, creativity, and community. This year, Kurkure®, PepsiCo India’s iconic homegrown snack brand, is bringing its signature chatpata flavour to the celebrations with a spectacular cultural takeover at the iconic Brindamon Matri Mandir pandal. In true Kurkure® style, the brand is reimagining nostalgia with a street takeover, from a vibrant tram makeover to a quirky yellow taxi and striking rooftop alponas.
At the centre of the festivities is the Kurkure® Tram, a vibrant recreation of one of Kolkata’s most iconic symbols. Decked up with festive lights, dhaak-inspired visuals, and even a karaoke adda corner, the tram offers pandal-hoppers a space to celebrate, connect and create memories together.
But the celebration doesn’t stop there. On Sukea Street, Kurkure® has crafted larger-than-life installations that fuse nostalgia with fun: a yellow taxi transformed into a playful photo booth, a striking mural that blends Bengal’s Pattachitra art with Kurkure®’s quirky personality, and a grand Alpona at the entrance to welcome visitors in festive style. Every element has been thoughtfully designed to capture the essence of Durga Pujo — communal joy, cultural pride, and a whole lot of chatpata fun.
Sharing her thoughts, Aastha Bhasin, Marketing Director – Kurkure and Doritos, PepsiCo India, said, “Durga Pujo is one of the most iconic festivals, and we’re proud to have Kurkure be part of the celebrations in Kolkata with a curated immersive experience. Sharing the joy of Pujo with the Kolkatans, we are revisiting the city’s beloved icons – from trams to alponas, Kurkure style, creating an experience that is both playful and nostalgic. We invite everyone to experience the reimagined Sukea Street space, a vibrant adda, with more reasons to celebrate and have fun with loved ones.”
This one-of-a-kind Pujo celebration brings alive the city’s traditions with a contemporary flavour, adding a spark of fun while staying rooted in the nostalgia and pride that makes Kolkata’s Durga Pujo truly special.
