New Delhi, January 2026: Pure Love’s Fake Wedding arrives in the capital on 17th January from 9 PM onwards at The LaLiT New Delhi’s 24/7 Bar. A celebrated Kitty Su Pop Up IP, the Pure Love’s Fake Wedding has previously travelled across Mumbai, Jaipur, Kolkata and Chandigarh, building a reputation as one of the most emotionally resonant queer-led cultural nights in the country. Now, the experience finds its next home in Delhi, in collaboration with Rainbow India and Rainbow Delhi.
Equal parts celebration and resistance, the Fake Wedding is a space where queer joy takes centre stage in a country where same-sex marriage is still not legally recognised. It borrows from the familiar language of the Indian shaadi — colour, drama, music, rituals, and spectacle — while rewriting it through a queer lens.
This Delhi edition will unfold like a full-fledged wedding celebration. Expect immersive wedding décor, celebratory food, dhol walas ushering in the baraat, mehendi walis adorning hands with stories of love and hope, and rituals reimagined as acts of visibility and belonging. Every detail is intentional — not as parody, but as reclamation.
At its core, the Fake Wedding is about queer marriage dopamine — the rush, warmth and affirmation of choosing love in a system that still refuses to recognise it legally. Until the law catches up, the community continues to create its own moments of legitimacy through culture, togetherness, and joy.
The evening features a powerful line-up of queer performers and artists including Veronica, Lush Monsoon, Fardish, Betta Naan Stop, Wacker Cracker, Hash Brownie, and Mysterious Munda, with DJ Triangle Edge on the console, guiding the night from emotion to euphoria.
Speaking on the return of the Pure Love’s Fake Wedding, a Kitty Su Pop Up IP, Arrives in Delhi This January, Aashin Moitra, General Manager, Kitty Su India, shared:
“Pure Love and the Fake Wedding were created as spaces of affirmation — places where queer relationships are honoured with the same joy, drama and respect as any other love story. As a Kitty Su Pop Up IP that has travelled across multiple cities, this format has consistently shown us how deeply the community craves visibility and belonging. Until marriage equality becomes a reality, these moments of celebration, shared rituals and collective joy remain powerful forms of resistance.”
The collaboration with Rainbow India and Rainbow Delhi strengthens the evening’s intent — bringing together community organisations, allies, artists, and chosen families to celebrate love that refuses to be hidden or diminished.
Hosted at The LaLiT New Delhi, a long-standing ally of the LGBTQIA+ community, the Fake Wedding continues Kitty Su and Pure Love’s commitment to using nightlife as a platform for culture, storytelling, and social impact.
This 17th January, the baraat arrives in Delhi — with dhols, mehendi, music and love. The vows may not be legal, but the love is unmistakably real.
