Chennai 9th March 2026: Celebrating International Women’s Day 2026 with pride and purpose, South Indian Bank unveiled the Second edition of Women Like You, a special coffee table book chronicling the inspirational journeys of 53 remarkable women from diverse fields. Launched at a grand event in Chennai, the second edition builds on the success of the inaugural volume and stands as a tribute to resilience, leadership, and the indomitable spirit of women who continue to shape society through courage and conviction.
Much like the celebratory event that brought together inspiring voices under one roof, the coffee table book echoes the spirit of this year’s theme, “Between Dreams and Duties.” The volume captures powerful narratives of women who balance ambition with responsibility, personal aspirations with professional commitments, and challenges with determination. Through compelling stories and reflections, the book underscores how women are redefining success on their own terms while uplifting others along the way.
The event was headlined by Ms. Bharathy Bhaskar, a renowned Tamil orator, author, who also serves as an Independent Director at Hatsun Agro Product Ltd. She spoke about the evolving role of women in leadership and the importance of perseverance and self-belief. The panel discussion, themed “Women Supporting Women: Where Real Change Begins,” was moderated by Ms. Aparna Ganesan, Documentary Filmmaker and Independent Journalist. The session featured an accomplished and diverse lineup of speakers, including:
- Ms. Mahalakshmi Saravanan, Founder, Women Entrepreneurs India and TEDx Speaker
- Ms. Muthamil Selvi, the first woman from Tamil Nadu to have conquered Mount Everest
- Ms. Mohana Sundari, Founder, Veera Pengal Munnetra Sangam (VPMS), a collective of women auto drivers in Chennai
- Ms. Nisha John, Clinical Psychologist
- Dr. Saundarya Rajesh, Entrepreneur and Founder-President, Avtar Group
The celebration also featured a special Succession Planning Session led by Mr. CA. Sreejith Kuniyil, offering valuable guidance on financial preparedness and legacy planning. The evening concluded with an inspiring musical performance by Ms. Charulatha Mani, an acclaimed Carnatic and Film Playback Singer known for blending classical and contemporary styles, bringing the event to a memorable close.
