V-Guard Calls for Collective Vigilance on Women’s Safety with Thought-Provoking Durga Puja Film

24 September 2025: V-Guard Industries Ltd., a leading name in consumer electricals and appliances, has unveiled a new thought-provoking ad film on the sidelines of Durga Puja. The recent campaign addresses one of the most pressing issues in society today – women’s safety. Titled “The Third Eye”, the ad film urges society to awaken to its conscience and rethink its role in ensuring women safety with a powerful call: “Reflect. Respect. Protect.”

The film opens with the introduction of a futuristic innovation – V-Guard 3i Eyewear, an intelligent pair of glasses designed to scan faces, capture acts of harassment, and immediately alert law enforcement. As a young woman wearing the glasses walks down the street, anti-social elements are identified and apprehended, creating a sense of reassurance and empowerment.

But the film delivers a poignant twist — the eyewear is not real, but the problem is. The 3i eyewear is a conceptual creation, used as a metaphor to highlight a deeper truth: we cannot wait for magical technologies to safeguard women. The responsibility lies with each of us to awaken our own “third eye” of awareness and vigilance, ensuring respect and safety for women in every space.

Durga Puja celebrates the goddess as a symbol of strength, courage, and protection. Through this campaign, V-Guard reminds us that while we worship Durga in temples, it is equally important to recognize Durga in every woman — and to treat her with dignity and respect.

Anil Ralph Thomas, Director and Chief Creative Officer, Ralph&Das, who has written & directed the film, adds, “What if there were actual glasses that could detect perps on the street and call them out to make the streets safer for women? – Alas, not yet. This film however intends to be an eye opener to society at large, that it’s a collective responsibility. Thoroughly enjoyed working on this campaign with the brilliant Saikat (our CD) & his amazing team, Abhinav & Ashwin on this – who not just created the campaign but also led it from the front. – While the video was completely created in-house though AI Generation, the script, lyrics & music were a result of HC (Human creativity).”

Mr. Kaustav Das, Director and CEO, Ralph&Das opined, “This was an attempt to urge society to identify, name and shame the known culprits. That’s the least we can do for now to keep the predators at bay. Necessity they say is the mother of invention. Such a product may not exist today. But can technology actually find a solution tomorrow. The Jury is still out on that.”
