When a Tattoo Becomes a Tribute: Aliens Tattoo Launches ‘Part of You’ — India’s First Emotional Tattoo Movement Honoring the Human–Pet Bond

At the heart of this initiative is a national tattoo movement that turns the emotional bond between humans and animals into lasting art and meaningful impact.

Mumbai, India – 27 May 2025 — In a bold move that turns tattoos into acts of love and legacy, Aliens Tattoo has launched ‘Part of You’ — India’s first emotional tattoo movement dedicated to honoring the deep bond between humans and their pets. The initiative also pledges 1% of revenues to animal welfare groups nationwide, making every tattoo not just personal but quietly powerful.

At the heart of this initiative is a national tattoo movement that turns the emotional bond between humans and animals into lasting art and meaningful impact. As tattoos in India evolve from symbols of rebellion into deeply personal expressions of memory and identity, ‘Part of You’ offers pet parents a way to commemorate their animals’ presence, companionship, or passing in a form that endures. From tiny paw prints and hyper-realistic portraits to abstract designs that capture a pet’s spirit, each tattoo becomes a silent but powerful tribute.

The movement arrives at a time when India is witnessing a rise in pet adoption and a shift in how people mark emotional milestones, with tattoos increasingly becoming a language of memory, healing, and identity.

“This isn’t just a tattoo. It’s a legacy,” said Sunny Bhanushali, Founder and Chief Visionary Artist at Aliens Tattoo. “When someone loses a pet, or even wants to celebrate the little joys of companionship, we believe that story deserves more than a memory. It deserves permanence. And with ‘Part of You’, we’re making sure that permanence helps more lives — not just honours one.”

Since its rollout, the campaign has seen strong traction. Organic digital engagement has crossed 7 million impressions, and studios in Mumbai, Bangalore, and Hyderabad have reported a 43% rise in pet-related tattoo bookings. The stories coming in are as diverse as they are moving — from a woman in Pune who tattooed her late dog’s paw to honour 15 years of companionship, to a man in Assam who flew to Mumbai just to have his cat’s eyes inked by a senior artist. Each tattoo speaks to love that endures — even in absence.

To preserve and amplify these stories, the brand has launched a video storytelling series that captures the emotional motivations behind the tattoos. These visual narratives document how ink becomes a medium for memory, identity, and closure, offering rare glimpses into how people navigate loss and connection. The campaign also includes a dedicated microsite to help pet parents begin their tribute journey, along with curated design options for those unsure how to translate feelings into art.

What sets ‘Part of You’ apart is its structure — built like a movement rather than a campaign. The initiative features collaborations with tattoo artists, pet parents, and animal advocates, and includes brand alliances with organizations such as People for Animals, Pedigree, and Heads Up For Tail. While emotional tattooing has gained global momentum — with Western studios offering ashes-infused ink or soundwave memorials — ‘Part of You’ is the first large-scale, brand-led effort in India to formalize this space through national rollout, consistent client experience, and cause-driven intent.
