10+ Cities, One Bus Tour, One Song: Rajeev Prasanna’s ‘Kyun’ Explores the Emotions Left Unspoken

Created during a bus journey on Shreya Ghoshal’s Unstoppable USA Tour, the song finds its inspiration in unexpressed feelings and the questions that linger.

Mumbai, 14 October 2026: Created during long bus journeys across the United States, acclaimed flautist and music composer Rajeev Prasanna’s new song Kyun draws inspiration from the complexities of unexpressed emotions and one sided love. As the tour travelled through more than 10 cities, the time spent on the road became an unexpected creative space, allowing an idea rooted in longing and unanswered questions to evolve into a song.

Speaking about the inspiration behind the song, Rajeev Prasanna said, “During those long bus journeys, I found myself going back to a time when there was so much I wanted to say, but somehow, I never said it. I kept thinking about that unspoken love, the feelings I held on to, and the possibilities of what could have been. Sometimes, you don’t lose a person because you stop loving them; you simply never find the courage or the right moment to tell them what they mean to you. And years later, a part of you still wonders, what if I had said something? Would our story have been different? Somewhere between one city and the next, these thoughts found their way into Kyun. In a way, the song became my way of expressing everything that had remained unsaid.”

With Kyun, Rajeev captures a familiar human experience: the moments that stay with us long after they have passed, and the possibilities that linger in our minds. This song invites listeners to revisit their own memories and reflect on a question that sometimes has no easy answer — Kyun?
