National, 9th August 2023: The results of a recent survey conducted by Genius Consultants Limited shed light on the varying opinions surrounding Chat GPT and similar AI platforms in the workplace. The survey, which included 1207 participants from diverse industries, revealed a mix of perspectives on the benefits and potential drawbacks of AI technology.

According to the survey findings, 50% of respondents view Chat GPT and similar AI platforms as a boon, emphasizing their accessibility, efficiency, versatility, and language learning capabilities. Conversely, 25% of participants express concerns, highlighting issues such as overdependence, biases, lack of human touch, and potential privacy and security risks.

Furthermore, the survey reveals that 47% of employees currently utilize Chat GPT, while 44% do not utilize it, indicating a significant adoption rate within the organization. The widespread usage indicates recognition of the advantages offered by AI platforms for tasks such as content creation, coding, image and sound development, and more. 

Interestingly, 65% of the survey participants believe that AI platforms would gradually replace manual employees by streamlining processes in content creation, coding, and design, while enhancing overall productivity. However, 27% of employees hold a differing viewpoint, suggesting a cautious approach towards the displacement of human workers by AI technology.

Moreover, a significant majority of 67% believe that AI platforms would facilitate the elimination of repetitive and tedious work through process automation, leading to smoother workflow management. Conversely, 18% of respondents express reservations regarding the effectiveness of AI platforms in reducing monotonous tasks.

When it comes to the impact on job prospects, 65% of participants feel optimistic, believing that the application of AI platforms in organizations would lead to the development of new job opportunities and increased productivity. However, 26% express uncertainty about this notion, indicating potential concerns about job displacement or changes in job roles.

The survey also identifies specific areas of potential impact. Approximately 46% of respondents believe that content creation jobs would be most affected by the application of AI platforms, followed by 32% expressing concerns about coding and design roles, and 22% highlighting potential impacts on administrative positions.

These findings underscore the complex and multifaceted nature of AI technology in the workplace. The opinions expressed highlight both the advantages and concerns associated with AI platforms like Chat GPT. Organizations must carefully consider the implications of adopting such technologies and ensure that employees are prepared for any changes that may arise.

The survey was floated from 15th May 2023 and closed on 24th June 2023.
