Delhi cancels Driving Licence Test amid Covid Surge

Amid the covid rising cases in the state of Delhi, the government has also come up with some new rules to control the spreading of the infection among people and to lower down the covid cases. 

The government after the meeting held on Wednesday decided to cancel all the driving tests which were about to happen and also extended the validity of the existing learner licenses due to the public interest.

The order was issued by the Joint Commissioner stated that all the applications received for the new driving test are suspended and the tests that were supposed to be conducted are postponed due to public interest considering the situation of the state.

The Delhi Transport Minister made a tweet on Twitter to announce this. He said all considering the situation of our stat amidst the rising cases of covid the government has taken a new step to control it.

All the appointments for driving tests and learners tests at all the RTOs in the state are suspended from January 6, 2022. The rescheduled dates will be let you know through the Sms. he also added to extend the validity of the existing learner licenses. 

The Delhi Disaster Management Authority ordered work from home for employees of non-essential services and also directed the nodal officers to keep a check on the Delhi transport buses to avoid overcrowding in buses and metro.

On the last day, we saw the news of the government allowing the metro to run will full capacity to avoid overcrowding of people at bus stops and stations. The government also mentioned people who aren’t following the government protocols issued for the covid will be excluded from the service.

The government also said that all service will be continued at Zonal offices once the situation is under control ensuring covid protocols. Fitness tests of commercial vehicles with owners and drivers will also be continued after the cases are lower in the state.

The government also ordered the enforcement staff in addition to their present duties to keep a check to ensure there is no overcrowding of the buses and stations near and also people follow the covid protocols while using the service.

The Executive Director of ISBT appointed nodal officers in all three ISBTs in the state mainly to ensure the covid behavior is followed in all the ISBTs. 

He also added to appoint general managers of ISBTs as sub nodal officers to monitor the protocols issued by the government to control the surge of covid are being followed such as wearing masks, maintaining social distancing, and proper sanitization.

The DTC and the Delhi Integrated Multi-Modal Transit System running the public transport in have also been directed to follow the rules and guidelines issued by DMMA for the same.

The latest reports regarding the Covid Cases in Delhi are 10,665 in 24 hours. 

The government asks the people of the capital to cooperate with them and control the covid surge.
