Pocket FM’s Sound of Courage Returns with a Powerful Story of Rajasthan’s Girls Who Kicked Past Child Marriage

On International Day of the Girl Child, the new brand film celebrates how young girls from Rajasthan found freedom and purpose through football

India, Oct 14, 2025: As the world prepares to mark the International Day of the Girl Child, audio series platform Pocket FM has unveiled a new chapter of its acclaimed brand series, Sound of Courage, featuring the inspiring story of young girls from Rajasthan, who are breaking barriers through football.

Created in collaboration with the Mahila Jan Adhikar Samiti (MJAS), the film captures how these girls turned an open patch of land into their own football field , and, in doing so, found a sense of freedom and self-worth, their mothers and grandmothers could only dream of.

These girls faced limited access to education and early marriages, often at a very young age. Sports and recreation were rarely considered for them. When a few of them began to play football, their initiative gradually evolved into a local movement that inspired the community to rethink traditional norms and expectations. It became a language of equality and self-belief.

“Football gave us permission to dream,” says Maina Choudhary, one of the players featured in the film. “When we play, nobody tells us who we can or cannot be.”

The impact has been extraordinary. More girls are continuing their education, families are encouraging their daughters to step out, and the spirit of change is visible across their communities. There is a visible decline in child marriage, and some players have even represented their district at the state level.

“In today’s world, it’s easy to get lost in the noise. With Sound of Courage, we want to bring forward unique and unheard stories across the world that lift our spirits and remind us what courage truly looks like,” said Vineet Singh, SVP – Brands, Pocket Entertainment. “The story of these Rajasthan girls reminds us that real change begins quietly when people are given a voice, a chance, and the space to dream. This film is a celebration of everyone who dares to rise above limitations and redefine what’s possible.”

The Rajasthan chapter follows the previous Sound of Courage story featuring the Indian Women’s Ice Hockey Team, extending the campaign’s vision from national-level achievements to grassroots empowerment. Both stories together reinforce Pocket FM’s belief that courage is universal, and it exists in every voice that dares to challenge social barriers.

The film was conceptualised by Pocket Entertainment’s in-house creative team, which led the visualisation, direction, and production, along with Colonial Films.
