Gujarat, 25 February 2026: Ambuja Cements, the 9th largest building materials solutions provider globally and part of the diversified Adani Portfolio, as part of its CSR, supported a three-day Breast Cancer Awareness Programme at Ambujanagar in collaboration with Association of Breast Surgery (ABS) UK, Association of Breast Surgery (ABS) India and the District Health Department, aimed at strengthening awareness, early detection and screening efforts within the community.
The programme commenced with a Continuing Medical Education (CME) session on breast cancer awareness, attended by 72 doctors from the region. Expert breast surgeons delivered technical presentations covering screening protocols, diagnosis and management of breast cancer, fostering knowledge exchange and professional capacity building.
On the second day, hands-on training sessions on breast examination were conducted for frontline health workers, witnessing active participation from 190 Community Health Officers (CHOs) and Accredited Social Health Activists (ASHAs). The practical sessions enhanced their skills in early identification and community-level intervention.
The third day featured a dedicated breast cancer screening camp for high-risk women from the community. Around 130 women benefited from primary breast examinations conducted by breast surgeons and oncology specialists, with appropriate counselling and referrals provided for further evaluation where required.
The comprehensive three-day initiative reinforced Ambuja Cements’ commitment to community healthcare by promoting breast cancer awareness, strengthening early detection mechanisms and building the capacity of healthcare providers at multiple levels.
