There was a time when solitaire rings came with expectations. A proposal. A partner. A milestone. A moment where someone else decided you were ‘chosen’
True Diamond and Parul Gulati are ready to change that story.
Introducing The Malkin Collection, a modern solitaire collection built around one powerful idea: why should women wait for someone else to buy them a diamond?
Created in collaboration with actor, entrepreneur, and founder Parul Gulati, the collection celebrates women who make their own choices, build their own lives, and don’t believe joy needs permission. The word Malkin, meaning owner or boss, becomes the spirit of the collection. Not just owning jewellery, but owning your decisions, your ambition, your desires, and your life.
For Parul, the collaboration felt deeply personal. As someone who has built her own identity through entrepreneurship and independence, the idea of women buying diamonds for themselves felt natural, overdue, and honest.
The collection moves solitaires away from old-school narratives of waiting and approval. Instead, it turns them into everyday symbols of instinct, individuality, celebration, and self-expression. Bought because you closed a deal. Because you survived a hard week. Because you felt powerful. Or simply because you wanted to.
Because honestly, who made the rule that diamonds need a reason?
The Design
At the heart of the collection is a signature crown motif, woven across the pieces as a symbol of self-definition. The crown here is not gifted. It is claimed.
What’s distinct is that a lot of the solitaires are intentionally set in a bezel design – chosen for how a woman actually lives in her jewellery. No snagging. No catching. A ring built for everyday wear, not just special occasions.
And for those who look closely: the number six appears as a quiet signature across select pieces – Parul’s lucky number – a personal mark of authorship on a collection she helped build from the inside.
Speaking about the collaboration, Parul Gulati shares, “For the longest time, solitaire rings have been linked to being chosen by someone else. I wanted to change that feeling. Women today work hard, build businesses, take care of families, heal and celebrate themselves. Why shouldn’t they buy their own diamonds? The Malkin Collection is really about that energy. Your ring. Your marzi.”
“Over the years at True Diamond, we’ve seen a growing number of women walk in and buy solitaires for themselves. Not for a wedding, not for an occasion, but simply because they wanted to. That really stayed with us,” says Darayus Mehta, Founder of True Diamond.
He further adds, “When we started thinking about this collection, Parul felt like the most natural collaborator. She has built her own identity, her own business, and has always stood for being your own boss. Today, collaborations are no longer just about celebrity value. They’re about relatability and shared belief systems. Parul represents the exact woman this collection is for, someone who owns her choices unapologetically.”
With this launch, True Diamond continues its focus on making fine jewellery feel emotionally relevant to the modern woman. The brand hopes the collection sparks a larger cultural shift, where diamonds are no longer tied only to romance or validation, but also to confidence, independence, and personal joy.
The philosophy of the collection is captured in one simple thought:
Your ring. Your marzi.
