Hyderabad, June 17 th, 2026: Telangana cricket is set for a landmark moment as the inaugural season of the Sreenidhi University TG20 gets underway at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium on June 21, with the league officially unveiling its full Season 1 schedule alongside actor Vijay Deverakonda as the Brand Ambassador of the tournament.
The tournament opener will see Palamuru Strikers take on Anvita Khammam Aces under lights on June 21, with the league stage running through July 7 before the playoffs begin on July 9. The Sreenidhi University TG20 Season 1 final will be played on July 12.
The inaugural edition of the tournament will feature several marquee names from Indian domestic cricket and the Telangana circuit. India international Mohammed Siraj will headline the Warangal Warriors squad, while India’s T20I vice-captain Tilak Varma and Ravi Teja will turn out for Medak Falcons.
Anurag Nalgonda Knights will feature Rahul Buddhi and Rakshann Readdi, while Anvita Khammam Aces have roped in CV Milind and Mickil Jaiswal. EIPL & Eleve Karimnagar Diamonds will bank on the experience of Tanmay Agarwal, with Rohit Rayudu set to represent Palamuru Strikers. Ranga Reddy Risers, meanwhile, will feature all-rounder Tanay Thyagarajan as one of the key names in their squad.
Fans across the country will be able to watch every match live on Star Sports, Star Sports 2, Star Sports 2 Telugu and JioHotstar, ensuring extensive broadcast and digital coverage for the league’s inaugural edition.
Several marquee fixtures headline the TG20 calendar, including the clash between Mohammed Siraj’s Warangal Warriors and Tilak Varma’s Medak Falcons on June 22, the Hyderabad derby between Hyderabad E-Champions and Ranga Reddy Risers on June 25, and the regional rivalry between Palamuru Strikers and Warangal Warriors on July 3.
The tournament will also feature key contests involving Anvita Khammam Aces against EIPL & Eleve Karimnagar Diamonds on June 26, Anurag Nalgonda Knights taking on Medak Falcons on July 3, and Palamuru Strikers facing Ranga Reddy Risers on June 27, ensuring all eight franchises are part of marquee league-stage encounters.

We’ve packed the calendar with marquee clashes, strong rivalries and prime-time fixtures, and having Vijay Deverakonda associated this season adds another layer of excitement and visibility for the league,” said V. Agam Rao, Chairman of the TG20 Governing Council at the Hyderabad Cricket Association.

The opening ceremony of the league will be held at the Rajiv Gandhi International Cricket Stadium and will begin at 5:30 PM on June 21. The event will feature a live performance by National Award-winning music composer Thaman S, among others.
With double-headers, day-night matches and a strong mix of experienced campaigners and emerging talent, Sreenidhi University TG20 aims to provide a major platform for Telangana cricket while delivering a world-class entertainment experience for fans.
Tickets for the inaugural season will go live on District by Zomato on Wednesday, June 17.
