National, 14th September 2026: BonV Aero, an Indian deep-tech company building autonomous heavy-lift aerial platforms for critical logistics, has been selected among the five finalists for Round 10 of GENIUS NY, world’s largest accelerator program for uncrewed systems and robotics. The selection marks a significant milestone in BonV Aero’s international expansion and its plans to establish a stronger presence in the US market.
This achievement builds directly upon BonV Aero’s growing track record of success and strategic momentum within the United States market. The company previously won Season 6 of Meet the Drapers, securing $1.6 million in funding from renowned investor Tim Draper. It has also engaged with the US Department of Defense and Department of Homeland Security through the I2A (India to America) Launchpad, joined the Arlington Global Security Tech Launchpad to expand its defense footprint, and showcased its heavy-lift autonomous platforms at XPONENTIAL 2025 in Houston. Far from an isolated milestone, selection into GENIUS NY accelerates this deliberate US expansion—further solidifying BonV Aero’s brand credibility on the global stage.
Following a competitive global selection process, BonV Aero will join four other companies in the year-long, in-residence GENIUS NY programme in Central New York. The five finalist teams will compete for a total of $3 million in direct investment, comprising a $1 million grand prize and four awards of $500,000 each. The programme also provides participating companies with product and business development support, access to investors and industry leaders, and opportunities to engage with the region’s growing uncrewed systems ecosystem.
BonV Aero’s selection comes after the company was named among 12 semifinalists for GENIUS NY Cohort 10 in July 2026. The semifinalist pool was selected from more than 100 applications spanning multiple countries and represented a broad range of technologies across mission and fleet management, defence applications and UAS vehicle development. BonV Aero was recognised for its autonomous heavy-lift aerial platforms designed to transport critical supplies across some of the world’s most challenging environments like the Himalayas.
Originally developed with applications in remote and mountainous terrains, BonV Aero’s technology is designed to address logistics challenges where conventional transportation can be constrained by terrain, distance and accessibility. Its autonomous aerial platforms have applications across defence, emergency response, healthcare logistics, critical infrastructure and commercial logistics.
Satyabrata Satapathy, Co-Founder & CEO, BonV Aero, said, “Being selected as a GENIUS NY finalist is a defining milestone for BonV Aero and a strong validation of the relevance of our technology beyond India. We have built our platforms around a simple but demanding challenge — moving critical supplies where conventional logistics struggle. The opportunity to take this capability into the Central New York ecosystem will allow us to work alongside leading companies, investors and institutions in the global uncrewed systems sector. We look forward to building BonV USA from this platform and contributing to the next chapter of autonomous aerial logistics.”
The selection also strengthens BonV Aero’s ongoing US market expansion. The company has partnered with AIRAVAT as its strategic US growth and market expansion partner, supporting its efforts across strategic partnerships, customer engagement, pilot programmes, government engagement and long-term market development.
The GENIUS NY programme, operated by CenterState CEO and funded by Empire State Development with support from National Grid, has supported more than 45 uncrewed systems and robotics startups since its launch in 2017. Across nine previous rounds, the programme has invested nearly $27 million in participating companies, which have subsequently generated more than $500 million in follow-on funding and created hundreds of jobs.
As part of Cohort 10, BonV Aero will establish operations in Central New York and work primarily from CenterState’s INSPYRE Innovation Hub in downtown Syracuse. The finalists will spend the coming months scaling their businesses, advancing their technologies and engaging with the region’s established UAS ecosystem, before competing in the GENIUS NY Pitch Finals in spring 2027.
