vivo celebrates the ‘#JoyOfHomecoming’ this Diwali, Bringing Cherished Traditions to Life with Friends and Family

New Delhi, 31ST October 2026: vivo India has unveiled its new Diwali campaign, #JoyOfHomecoming, celebrating how cherished family traditions and shared memories bring loved ones closer, even as lives and ways of celebrating evolve. Created in collaboration with Dentsu Creative – Webchutney, the campaign film tells the story of a young man living away from home who is reminded of a special Diwali ritual shared with his mother, inspiring him to return and celebrate the festival together. Rooted in vivo’s philosophy of ‘Live the Joy’, the campaign highlights how even the simplest traditions can hold deep emotional meaning and make the journey home special.

The campaign film follows Kabir, a young professional living in Dubai who is unable to return home for Diwali. On Choti Diwali, his childhood friends surprise his mother with a festive celebration. As Kabir watches the moments shared by his friends, he notices an unlit diya that he and his mother have traditionally lit together. Reminded of their cherished ritual, he returns home to celebrate Diwali with her, capturing the #JoyOfHomecoming through the enduring bonds of family and the traditions that bring them together.

Through this story, vivo brings alive the emotional significance of traditions that connect generations. Whether it is lighting a diya, preparing a favourite festive delicacy or following a family custom, these familiar rituals carry memories and a sense of belonging that remain meaningful, regardless of where life takes us. The campaign also reflects how Diwali celebrations continue to evolve, with friends creating new moments of togetherness while families keep cherished traditions alive.

Building on vivo’s longstanding #JoyOfHomecoming campaign theme, this year’s film celebrates the warmth of familiar traditions and the relationships that give them meaning. It reinforces the thought that while technology helps people stay connected across distances, the joy of being together and sharing these moments in person remains irreplaceable.

Speaking about the campaign, Geetaj Channana, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, vivo India, said, “Every year, through #JoyOfHomecoming, we celebrate the connections and traditions that make Diwali and the journey home so meaningful. As young people pursue their aspirations and build lives away from home, family traditions continue to draw them back to the people they love. This year’s campaign celebrates the family bonds and traditions that draw us home, while recognising the friends who help us stay connected to the people we love. Aligned with our philosophy of ‘Live the Joy’, we hope the campaign inspires people to embrace the relationships that matter and cherish the moments of togetherness that make festivals truly special.”

Surjo Dutt, Chief Executive Officer & Chief Creative Officer, Dentsu Creative – Webchutney, shared, “Diwali is about being together. But in a world where ambition and opportunity can take us far from home, being connected and being together aren’t always the same thing. We explored this thought through a simple, heartwarming story of friendship and family. What unfolds is a reminder that technology can do more than help us capture and share moments. It can bring us closer to the people and emotions that matter most. We believe it’s not just about capturing life as it happens, but about experiencing the joy that makes life meaningful. And sometimes, a little moment on a screen can make you realise what truly matters beyond it.”
