Bangalore, India; October 28 th, 2026: CopperPilot, the AI design agent for electronics hardware, today announced a $390K pre-seed round led by Neon Fund, with participation from US-based angel investors. The startup has reported 25x growth in weekly active users since August 2026, with 6000+ artifacts run on the platform till date. CopperPilot also announced that V1 of their Design Agent codenamed “Epsilon” is now open for hardware engineers to use.
CopperPilot was created to address a complex problem facing hardware engineers simplifying the designing of electronic circuit boards and supporting engineers through a co-pilot that can efficiently automate much of design work. Engineers still spend hours reading datasheets, choosing components, drawing schematics and routing boards. Product development guides estimate that the electronics work alone, from schematic through to ordering first prototype boards, takes roughly 6 to 15 weeks and costs $7,500 to $30,000, which can be reduced to merely hours by CopperPilot.
CopperPilot takes engineers from a plain-English description to a manufacturing-ready circuit board design. It works inside the tools engineers already use, starting with KiCad, with early support for Altium and LTspice. It also plugs into AI coding agents including Claude Code, Cursor and Codex, so that developers can hand board design to it from within those tools. The company has utilized a unique technique to showcase their builds on LinkedIn. The team at CopperPilot publishes a new open-source board every day, open to inspection in KiCad, with around 30 published till date.
The company was founded by Aditya NG, Mohit Bagur and Anish Harsha to address the existing gap in the $20.93B electronic design automation (EDA) software market. They spent about a year since their founding in October 2025 distilling their experience from autonomous vehicles, quantum photonics and robotics for the engineering and benchmarking their Hardware Design Agent. The founders believe that the sectors that will benefit the most from their AI are consumer electronics, renewables and energy storage, robotics and IoT, and automotives and EV. The funds raised in this round will be utilised in product research and engineering, to make the AI agent smarter, faster and more reliable. The team also plans to expand their engineering team in coming months. CopperPilot currently has clients in the US, UK and Europe alongside users in India and other countries.
Aditya NG, Co-Founder and CEO, CopperPilot shared his vision for the company saying, “On almost every autonomous vehicle team I worked with, someone would eventually say: a compute unit for six cameras is too hard to design, or a drive-by-wire unit is too much for us.
Many teams stopped right there. The ones that kept going spent months staring at datasheets and paying for mistakes on board re-spins. I built CopperPilot so that no hardware team is ever blocked because a board is too hard to design. Today it designs an AI camera board in about 30 minutes. I started out designing the electronics for a student race car. The racecars of the future will be designed with CopperPilot.”
“AI coding agents have changed how software gets built. Hardware has been left behind, still slowed by datasheets, manual layout and costly re-spins. Aditya, Anish and Mohit have lived at the intersection of AI and hardware, and CopperPilot already turns a plain-English idea into a manufacturing-ready design. We think this is how the next generation of hardware will be built”, comments investor Siddhartha Ahluwalia, Managing Partner, Neon Fund.
Speaking about their experience with CopperPilot, customer Andrei Danescu, Co-founder and CEO, Dexory said, “Robotics companies live and die by how fast they can iterate on hardware and drive continuous improvements. Tools like CopperPilot point to a future where that loop is measured in days, not months. An incredible time to create new product and bring ideas to market”.
About CopperPilot
CopperPilot is the AI agent for electronics hardware that takes engineers from a plain-language description to a validated circuit board design. It works inside the tools engineers already use, starting with KiCad and with support for Altium, LTspice and Firmware. It researches requirements, selects components, draws schematics, places and routes boards, and checks its own work for electrical and design-rule errors. CopperPilot also works as a plugin for AI coding agents such as Claude Code, Cursor and Codex. Founded by engineers who have worked on autonomous vehicles, race car electronics and quantum optics, CopperPilot serves paying customers across the US, UK and Europe. The company is based in the US with a team in Bengaluru and is backed by Neon Fund. For more information, visit copperpilot.ai.
