It was on April 20, 1999 that The Advertising Council of India (ACI) was formulated in association with the Standing Committee on Advertising (STACA). In 2012, on the occasion of Dussera, it launched a new webpage http://www.adcouncilofindia.org of its own.
The site has been launched with a belief that it would be really helpful to people. Pradeep Guha, ACI said, “I believe this will be very useful in the times to come. Right now, the site gives one an overview of what the ACI is all about. It has the information about the interesting Fast Track program ACI is running and has a useful link to the AdAsia 2011 site. More importantly, it has the first initiative of the AFAA knowledge Centre.”
The web page shows all the activities that ACI is associated with. A new initiative named the Fast Track is also mentioned in the site along with its details. It is in fact a 50 hour certification program, which is to be held in Malaysia in 2013 January.
It also gives a brief idea regarding The Asian Federation of Advertising Associations (AFAA) Knowledge Centre. It has a partnership with WARC, which helps in providing ideas to the marketing community.
STACA is a public trust which was formed with an objective to impart education in the field of Advertising and Marketing. They wanted to promote growth and development in the fields of advertising.
AFAA was founded in 1978 with the objective to unify all the Asian associations who are involved in various marketing, advertising, media, ethics and other aspects. It has representations from 15 Asian nations, which includes Indonesia, Bangladesh, India, Sri Lanka,Japan, Korea, Taipei, Thailand, Vietnam, Malaysia, Singapore, Philippines, Nepal, Pakistan and UAE.
The site has also provided contact details, which includes their address, phone numbers and email address. An enquiry form is also attached to it.
Ad Council of India being a self regulatory association in the advertising industry and involved in serving the interests of its various stakeholders, this website will surely serve as a helping hand for people in the field of advertising in future.
