Adani Foundation at ACC Wadi Transforms Lives in Karnataka: 3 Stories of Skill, Resilience, and New Beginnings from ASDC

Adani Skill Development Centre (ASDC) at ACC Wadi, Karnataka is creating life-changing employment and livelihood opportunities for young people from underserved rural backgrounds through vocational training in technical trades

Karnataka, 6 April 2026: ACC, the cement and building materials company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, along with the Adani Foundation, through its Adani Skill Development Centre (ASDC) in Wadi, Karnataka, is rewriting the futures of young people from rural and underserved communities — one skill at a time.

Wadi, an industrial town in Karnataka, is home to many families where daily wages and uncertain livelihoods have defined life for generations. Through ASDC Wadi, ACC’s CSR initiative is breaking this cycle — providing structured vocational training in technical trades, hands-on learning environments, and end-to-end placement support. The stories of Maremma, Ranjan, and Siddarth are a testament to what becomes possible when opportunity meets determination.

Maremma: Architect of a New Future

Hunger shaped Maremma’s childhood. Her father’s illness and her brother’s meagre mining wages left the family struggling, and memories of her mother begging at the railway station stayed with her. Determined to change their fate, Maremma completed her PUC in 2024 — but a certificate alone was not enough to open doors.

She enrolled in the Technical Operator course at ASDC Wadi, committing herself fully to the rigorous training programme. Her dedication paid off: Maremma secured a placement at Tata Wistron in Narasapura, Bangalore, where she now earns Rs. 19,600 per month.

My mother walks with her head held high, just as I always dreamed,” she says proudly.Maremma is not just a breadwinner — she is the architect of a new future for herself and her family.

Ranjan: From Fields to Futures

Ranjan grew up in Wadi watching his father toil in the fields, learning early that life demands hard work. Determined to build something better, he enrolled in the Assistant Electrician course at ASDC Wadi. Unsure at first, the structured training, hands-on modules, and placement support gradually transformed his outlook and his prospects.

Today, Ranjan earns Rs. 11,300 per month with pride. His younger brother, inspired by his journey, is now pursuing a master’s degree, and their parents look on with joy at what their family has become.

Storms don’t last forever — you just have to keep moving forward,” he says. Ranjan’s story is a perfect example of how skills, support, and self-belief can spark life-transforming change.

Siddarth: Wired for Determination

Born deaf and mute in Wadi, Siddarth navigated a world that rarely paused to understand him. Alongside his siblings, he faced life’s challenges with resilience — relying on observation, focus, and grit where others relied on words.

When he enrolled in the Assistant Electrician course at ASDC Wadi, communication barriers presented an additional challenge — but Siddarth’s sheer determination allowed him to master the technical curriculum. Today, he is self-employed in Wadi, wiring homes with precision and earning a stable, independent livelihood.

Siddarth’s journey is a quiet but powerful reminder that true strength lies in perseverance, not volume — and that the right training environment can unlock potential in every individual, regardless of circumstance.

Together, these three stories reflect ACC’s vision for inclusive, skill-led growth in the communities surrounding its operations. ASDC Wadi continues to be a beacon of opportunity in Karnataka — transforming raw potential into purposeful careers and proving that when industry invests in people, entire families and communities rise.
