Andhra Pradesh, 21 January 2026: The Adani Foundation is empowering youth in Gangavaram, Andhra Pradesh, by fostering sporting talent through the Adani Coaching & Fitness Centre. Established in 2022, the Centre provides structured training in Kabaddi, Kho-Kho, Shuttle Badminton, and fitness programmes, helping aspiring athletes from fisher folk communities balance their education with their sporting ambitions.
The Centre’s intervention has already created inspiring success stories. Sixteen-year-old Yeripalli Komali and Badi Divya, both from fisher folk families, have advanced from school competitions to representing Andhra Pradesh in national-level Kabaddi tournaments. Similarly, 20-year-old Perla Divya, a passionate sportswoman, has represented Andhra University at the All-India Kabaddi tournament and now works as a Physical Education teacher, earning ₹7,000 per month. Their journeys reflect resilience, determination, and the opportunities created by the initiative’s support.
Beyond training, the Adani Foundation equip athletes with professional kits, mentorship, and access to competitive platforms. At the helm of the Centre is 23-year-old Nolli Theja, a national-level Kabaddi player from Gangavaram who has played 14 national tournaments. Overcoming financial struggles in his own journey, he now dedicates himself to coaching and inspiring the next generation of athletes, serving as a role model for the youth of the region.
The Adani Coaching & Fitness Centre has trained more than 72 players to date, including 30 girls, and continues to transform sports into a pathway of empowerment and aspiration. With focused interventions and dedicated mentorship, the Adani Foundation is not only helping individuals achieve sporting success but also fostering confidence, resilience, and community pride across Gangavaram.
