Visakhapatnam: 23rd December, 2022: Adani Gangavaram Port the deepest and the most modern port in the country today celebrated Kisan Divas at the port with IPL (Indian Potash Limited), KRIBHCO (Krishak Bharati Cooperative Limited) Officials along with prominent Fertilizer & Seed Distributors, Farmers and senior management of the port. The Officials & Guests visited the working Urea Vessel along with the new warehouse to oversee the operations.
Kisan Diwas is the day celebrated every year to honour each and every farmer who is working continuously for development. Farmers are considered to be the backbone of the nation as without them none of us can survive. Agriculture is the basis for all our growth and consumption. This day also marks the birth anniversary of the fifth Prime Minister of India, Chaudhary Charan Singh.
Mr. V. Logamurthy, Chief Manager, IPL addressed the forum & stated that Adani Gangavaram Port has supported fertilizer handling even during COVID. This has assisted in the Fertilizer reaching the farmers on time. GPL has enhanced its productivity & capacity in handling, storage, bagging & loading fertilizer & has assisted IPL in reaching farmers in 8 states by maintaining regular and efficient operations.
Mr. K. Jaganathan, Senior Area Manager, KRIBHCO mentioned that it is necessary for the growth of agriculture that farmers are supported with right logistics and infrastructure in the country.
Speaking on the occasion Mr. BG Gandhi, CEO, Adani Gangavaram Port Limited mentioned that with the new 11,000 Sq Meter warehouse we will have a total available covered warehouse space to over 1.3 lac Sq Meters at the port premises. Another 7,000 Sq Meter warehouse will be coming up in the next 2 months. This is our commitment to the farming community to deliver the best solutions for the availability of Fertilizer & market opportunities for their crop.
The guests were felicitated by the Adani Gangavaram Management and were handed over bouquets. The attendees stressed that Agriculture is extremely important as it provides employment and everyone should make efforts to provide all facilities to farmers.
