This July, ADRIFT Kaya invites you to step into a world of celestial romance and timeless tradition with a heartfelt celebration of Tanabata, the beloved Japanese Star Festival. Rooted in the touching legend of Orihime, the weaver star, and Hikoboshi, the cowherd star—two celestial lovers allowed to reunite just once a year across the Milky Way—Tanabata is a tribute to longing, love, and hope.
Inspired by this magical tale, ADRIFT Kaya will transform into a dreamy, starlit sanctuary where tradition meets modern elegance. Guests will be welcomed into a romantic atmosphere where soft lighting, glowing lanterns, and starry accents bring the legend to life. The space will feature beautiful bamboo branches adorned with colourful tanzaku—strips of paper on which guests are encouraged to pen their heartfelt wishes and hang them amidst fluttering origami cranes. A dedicated “Wish Tree” installation will invite everyone to participate in this poetic ritual, creating a shared experience of hope and wonder.
To heighten the celebration, guests can enjoy a special Tanabata Kaiseki menu, thoughtfully curated using seasonal ingredients that reflect the spirit of the festival. Expect dishes that are both celestial and romantic in presentation, featuring fresh seafood, delicate fruits, and traditional Japanese flavours reimagined through a contemporary lens. The cocktail menu will be equally inspired, featuring signature creations such as the Orihime Blossom, Milky Way Martini, and Hikoboshi Highball, all crafted with premium Beam Suntory spirits.
Adding a playful twist to the festivities, ADRIFT Kaya will also host a “Spin the Win” activation. Guests who purchase any Beam Suntory product will have the chance to spin a prize wheel and win exciting rewards, making the evening even more engaging and memorable.
