Amazon India has announced a partnership with Invest India and the Indian Industries Association (IIA) to create the Amazon.in India ODOP (one district, one product) Bazaar.

At a virtual event attended by Deepak Bagla, MD and CEO Invest India, Ashok Kumar Agarwal, President, IIA, and Manish Tiwary, Country Manager, India Consumer Business, Amazon India, Narayan Rane, Hon’ble Union Minister of MSMEs, Government of India, unveiled this dedicated storefront that showcases and celebrates unique local products from sellers across India.

Hundreds of ODOP and Geographical Indication (GI) products from local companies across India will be on display at the India ODOP Bazaar.

Amazon continues to show its support for onboarding and launching sellers selling regional products on its India marketplace, www.amazon.in, through this collaboration with Invest India and IIA.

Handlooms and handicrafts made by local Indian craftsmen, as well as locally produced agricultural products from across India, will be the focus of the storefront. Customers will be able to visit the regional pages and learn more about the ODOP products from various districts around India, allowing them to make a better informed purchasing decision.

They will have easy access to a wide range of diverse and unique products, including Chikankari from Lucknow, Uttar Pradesh, Dhokra metal craft from Bastar, Chattisgarh, Coffee from Chikamagaluru, Karnataka, Sambalpuri Ikat from Sambalpur, Odisha, Warli Paintings from Sahyadri, Maharashtra, and Muga Silk from Kokrajhar, Assam, among others.

By buying online, customers will be able to support local businesses and contribute to their success. “MSMEs are the economic growth engine of New India,” remarked Hon’ble Union Minister of MSMEs Narayan Rane.

In response to Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji’s clarion appeal for Atmanirbhar Bharat, our government has launched a number of initiatives and implemented a number of critical reforms to promote MSMEs and stimulate entrepreneurial spirit among our country’s youth.

“To promote Made in India products and raise our MSMEs’ export potential, my ministry is focusing on giving them with a support structure to help them expand – by increasing raw material availability, technology, financial aid, skills, packaging, marketing, and training, among other things.” “I am pleased to see Amazon taking similar measures by digitally enabling lakhs of MSMEs across the country.”
