Chennai: The Arvind Mafatlal Group today announced the launch of Indivar Foundation www.indivarfoundation.org, a dedicated not-for-profit initiative that brings together decades of community engagement into a more focused and future-ready effort, with a clear emphasis on the girl child.
Built around the vision of Mr. Arvind Mafatlal, the Foundation reflects a legacy where business and community were never seen as separate. Long before formal structures around CSR existed, the Group’s work across healthcare, education, and livelihoods was guided by a simple belief that progress must include those beyond the boundaries of enterprise.
Over the past 60 years, this approach has taken shape through deep, long-standing partnerships with some of India’s most credible grassroots institutions, including Shri Sadguru Seva Sangh Trust, BAIF Development Research Foundation, N. M. Sadguru Water and Development Foundation, and Shri Chaitanya Health and Care Trust. Together, these efforts have supported millions of people, with healthcare access reaching over 20 million individuals, education and development initiatives benefiting more than 1 million children and youth, and livelihood and skill-building programs impacting over 3 million rural households, across underserved communities.
Indivar Foundation builds on this foundation of trust and experience, bringing greater structure, clarity, and intent to the Group’s social initiatives. With a sharper focus on the girl child, the Foundation aims to address critical gaps in access to education, health, and opportunity areas where the impact of timely support can be transformational.
Its programs will span education, health and nutrition, and community empowerment, with an emphasis on working closely with communities to design solutions that are both locally relevant and scalable.
The Foundation has already initiated on-ground work through Project Tarang in Khojbal, Gujarat, a community-led program that strengthens school ecosystems, supports learning outcomes, improves access to healthcare, and creates enabling environments for adolescent girls.
Pankhuri Mafatlal, Director, Indivar Foundation, said:
“Indivar Foundation is rooted in the belief that when a girl is given the opportunity to learn and grow, the impact extends far beyond her shaping her confidence, choices, and future. As a mother, this is something I relate to closely, and it has shaped how I view the kind of support every girl deserves one that allows her to learn, build confidence, and move forward with dignity. Through Indivar, we are working closely with communities to understand the barriers girls face and build thoughtful, sustained programmes that expand access to education, health, and opportunity in a way that creates long-term impact.”
