India, 2nd September 2026: AutoNXT has introduced its Autonomous Electric Aero Tiller, a next-generation agricultural machine that combines electric propulsion, autonomous navigation and precision technology to make soil preparation more efficient, sustainable and cost-effective. Designed to reduce dependence on conventional diesel-powered tractors, the solution aims to deliver consistent field operations while lowering operating costs, emissions and operator fatigue.
The Autonomous Electric Aero Tiller combines the proven mechanical design of conventional aero tillers with an integrated electric powertrain, intelligent implement controls and cloud-based connectivity. Unlike conventional tractor-mounted systems that depend on diesel engines, the new platform uses electric traction motors, a high-capacity lithium battery pack and an intelligent Battery Management System (BMS).
The machine incorporates RTK-GNSS, IMU, wheel angle sensors and wheel encoders for precise navigation, while stereo cameras provide obstacle identification and circumnavigation. Its autonomous control system can plan field coverage, perform automated headland turns, avoid obstacles and resume operations following interruptions, enabling farmers to operate the machine with minimal human intervention.
Pankaj Goyal, Co-Founder & COO, AutoNXT, said, “Agriculture is moving towards a future where electrification and automation will play an important role in improving productivity. With the Autonomous Electric Aero Tiller, we are combining familiar agricultural machinery with intelligent technology to deliver a solution that can reduce operating costs, improve consistency and support more sustainable farming practices.”
Designed for biomass mixing, soil aeration, seedbed preparationand crop residue incorporation, the machine continuously monitors parameters including ground speed, working depth and wheel slip. This allows the system to maintain consistent operating conditions and improve the uniformity of soil preparation across the field.
The Autonomous Electric Aero Tiller features a 1.8-metre working width, working depth of up to 180 mm and 36 heavy-duty steel aerator blades. It can operate at speeds of up to 5 km/h and achieve a field capacity of up to 1.5 acres per hour. With an approximate weight of 450 kg and a robust 8 mm frame, the machine is designed for demanding agricultural applications while maintaining a compact operating profile with minimal maintenance.
Kaustubh Dhondhe, Founder & CEO, AutoNXT, said, “Autonomous agriculture is about making field operations more predictable, measurable and intelligent. Our electric aero tiller brings together precision control, autonomous navigation and connected monitoring in one platform. We believe this approach can help farmers adopt smarter mechanisation while reducing dependence on conventional tractor-based operations.”
The machine also incorporates smart connectivity and cloud-based fleet management capabilities, including live location tracking, remote monitoring, job-progress tracking, battery-health monitoring, predictive maintenance and over-the-air software updates. These features can provide operators with greater visibility into machine performance and enable data-driven maintenance and operational planning.
The electric powertrain eliminates diesel fuel consumption during operation and tailpipe emissions, while reducing maintenance requirements associated with conventional engines, including oil changes and filters. Autonomous operation can also reduce prolonged driver involvement in repetitive field activities, helping minimise fatigue. In applications involving biomass or other materials, it can further reduce direct exposure to dust, odours and potentially hazardous substances.
By bringing together electrification, autonomy, precision tillage and connected technology, AutoNXT’s Autonomous Electric Aero Tiller marks a shift towards intelligent agricultural implements that can support India’s transition to cleaner and more efficient farming. As precision agriculture and autonomous machinery gain greater relevance, such technologies can help improve productivity while reducing the operational and environmental costs associated with conventional agricultural mechanisation.
