Hyderabad, 18th April 2026: BITS Pilani, through its Work Integrated Learning Programmes (WILP), today held the convocation ceremony for the second batch of Siemens Technology & Services Pvt. Ltd. (STSPL) professionals at the BITS Pilani Hyderabad Campus. A total of 106 working professionals received their Master of Technology degrees — 61 in Data Science & Engineering and 45 in Software Engineering — marking a significant milestone in the ongoing industry-academia collaboration between BITS Pilani WILP and Siemens.
This convocation marks the graduation of the second cohort since the partnership between BITS Pilani WILP and Siemens was established in 2022. The first batch of 142 Siemens professionals graduated earlier, bringing the total number of Siemens employees who have earned advanced degrees through this collaboration to 248. The programme enables Siemens’ working professionals to pursue rigorous, industry-integrated higher education without interrupting their careers — acquiring deep technical expertise directly applicable to the challenges of modern engineering and digital transformation.
Building Future-Ready Engineering Leaders
The M.Tech. programmes completed by this batch — Data Science & Engineering and Software Engineering — reflect the strategic priorities of both Siemens and India’s broader technology sector. The curriculum, developed in close alignment with Siemens’ operational and innovation needs, blends academic rigour with hands-on problem-solving grounded in real workplace contexts. Graduates emerge not only with advanced theoretical knowledge but with the practical capability to drive digital transformation, intelligent automation, and data-driven decision-making within their organisations.
The convocation was attended by senior leadership from BITS Pilani WILP and Siemens Technology & Services Pvt. Ltd., underscoring the strategic importance both institutions place on continued investment in workforce excellence and lifelong learning.
Prof. PB Venkataraman, Dean – Work Integrated Learning Programmes, BITS Pilani, said: “This convocation is a testament to what becomes possible when industry and academia commit, together, to the long-term development of talent. The Siemens professionals graduating today have demonstrated remarkable dedication — balancing the demands of full-time careers with the rigour of a BITS Pilani WILP M.Tech. programme. We are immensely proud of this cohort and look forward to seeing the impact they will create within Siemens and across India’s technology landscape. Our partnership with Siemens continues to be a model for how industry-integrated education can be done at scale and with genuine depth.”
Srikanth Vachaspati, Head P&O, Siemens Technology & Services Pvt. Ltd., said: “At Siemens, we believe that our people are our most enduring competitive advantage. This convocation is a moment of immense pride — not just for the 106 graduates and their families, but for Siemens as an organisation that has chosen to invest meaningfully in their growth. The BITS Pilani WILP partnership has enabled our professionals to pursue world-class postgraduate education without stepping away from the work they do every day. What makes this particularly special is that the knowledge they have gained is not theoretical — it has been tested, refined, and applied in real Siemens environments throughout the programme. We look forward to seeing this cohort lead with greater depth, confidence, and impact in the years ahead
