Borluit Productions releases the title track of ‘Dipholu’

Guwahati, July 16, 2026: Building on the emotional response received by Xorogi Xopun sung by the late legendary singers Zubeen Garg and Gayatri Hazarika, the makers of the upcoming Assamese feature film Dipholu have now unveiled the film’s lively title track “Dipholu Nodir Paarote”, offering audiences an energetic celebration of Assam’s rural life, traditions and community spirit ahead of the film’s theatrical release.

Released on YouTube, the song captures the colourful world of Dipholu through vibrant visuals, infectious rhythms and spirited performances by the ensemble cast. Sung by Rakesh Reeyan and Rupali Kashyap, the track has been written by Nekib, composed and directed by Jekiv, with music programming by Matrix and mixing and mastering by Nobo Medhi.

Unlike the film’s previously released romantic ballad Xorogi Xopun, the title track embraces the playful, joyous and celebratory mood that defines much of Dipholu. Set against the picturesque backdrop of Assamese village life, the song showcases the warmth of community life, everyday humour and the cultural vibrancy that forms the soul of the film.

Director Nekib said the title track was conceived as the musical identity of the film. “Every film has one song that immediately tells audiences what its world feels like. For us, this title track does exactly that. It reflects the energy, innocence and warmth of village life while celebrating the traditions and people who make Assam so unique. We wanted audiences to smile, tap their feet and feel instantly connected with the world of Dipholu,” he said.

Music composer and producer Jekiv said the team wanted the title track to stay rooted in Assamese musical traditions while presenting them in a contemporary and accessible way. “The title track carries the heartbeat of the film. It combines folk influences with a modern sound, making it both familiar and fresh. We wanted listeners to experience the joy and optimism that run through the film, and we hope the song stays with them long after it ends,” he said.

The music video, directed by Nekib and shot by cinematographer Uttam Kalita, features the film’s entire cast and serves as a lively introduction to the characters and the world they inhabit. Colourful visuals, spirited choreography and authentic rural settings come together to create a song that celebrates Assam’s rich cultural heritage while reflecting the film’s light-hearted yet meaningful narrative.

Produced by Jekiv and directed by Nekib, Dipholu marks Borluit Productions’ entry into feature-length cinema following its acclaimed short films Rong – The Colour and Akaax Bisari – Into the Sky. Rooted in the realities of Assamese village life, the film blends humour, romance and social consciousness while celebrating the culture, traditions and resilience of Assam.

Apart from the title track, the film’s soundtrack includes Xorogi Xopun, one of the last songs recorded by the late Zubeen Garg and Gayatri Hazarika, along with other original compositions featuring Rupali Kashyap, Rakesh Reeyan and Montumoni Saikia. The music has been composed and directed by Jekiv, with lyrics by Nekib and Gargee Bhattacharjee.

The film stars Amrita Gogoi, Subrat Deori, Arun Nath, Arun Hazarika, Purnada Hazarika, Rajib Dowari, Jyotishman Borah, Kanika Nath, Anirban Kalita, Ankur Baidya, Dr. Hitesh Baruah, Simashree Bora, Priyanshi Kashyap and Dibya Jyoti Borah, with veteran actress Mridula Barua appearing in a special role.

As anticipation builds for the film’s theatrical release, the title track offers audiences a spirited glimpse into the heart of Dipholu, a film that promises laughter, emotion, music and an authentic celebration of Assamese life.
