BULLET Microdrama’s ‘Deadline’ Named National Winner at Asian Academy Creative Awards 2026

The Hindi fantasy microdrama has been named National Winner, India for Best Micro-Drama in the inaugural year of the category, marking a strong first-year milestone for BULLET

India, 12th October 2026: BULLET Microdrama’s Deadline has been named the 2026 National Winner, India for Best Micro-Drama at the Asian Academy Creative Awards (AACA) 2026, marking a significant achievement for the platform and its growing slate of original microdrama content. The win comes in the inaugural year of AACA’s Best Micro-Drama category, with Deadline now advancing to the international round of judging alongside National Winners from across the Asia-Pacific region.

The award-winning fantasy microdrama, streaming on the BULLET Microdrama app, follows Dev, played by Qabeer Singh, who stops at a tea stall and encounters Yamraj, the modern-day God of Death, played by RJ Lucky. Yamraj gives Dev a terrifying 72-hour deadline to live, setting him off on a desperate race against time to fix his life and make amends for the mistakes of his past. Alongside his love interest Riya, played by Kritika Khurana, and his close confidant and guide, played by Soham Gupta, Dev is forced to confront the choices and relationships he has taken for granted as his final hours approach.

The win comes as BULLET Microdrama completes its first year, having built a growing slate of original microdramas focused on strong stories, characters and emerging talent. As the platform enters its second year, Deadline’s National Winner status marks an encouraging start to its next phase of growth and expansion.

Azim Lalani, Co-Founder & Chief Business Officer, BULLET Microdrama & Trinetra AI, said, “Microdrama has evolved significantly as a category, with audiences becoming more familiar with the format and developing a strong liking for stories that are built around its pace and viewing behaviour. We are also seeing global tastes influence what audiences are willing to discover and engage with, which is opening up the category to newer kinds of storytelling. As BULLET Microdrama completes its first year, having Deadline named India’s National Winner in the inaugural Best Micro-Drama category is a strong indication that we are on the right track. It gives us confidence as we continue to grow the platform, expand our slate and explore the opportunities emerging for microdrama in India and beyond.”

Alongside this evolving approach to content, BULLET Microdrama is also using technology and data to strengthen its content strategy. The platform uses Trishul, its script intelligence engine on Trinetra AI, to evaluate and score scripts across 100+ parameters, including story, hooks, character arcs and payoffs. Deadline was among the first scripts to be greenlit by the engine. While technology helps inform these decisions, BULLET continues to place creators and performers at the heart of the storytelling process, giving them room to bring distinct narratives and characters to the screen. Deadline reflects this approach through its fantasy-led premise and emerging talent.

Varsha Sindhu Prasad, Network Content Head, BULLET Microdrama, said, “For us, the most important part of building the slate has been getting the content right. We have put a strong emphasis on writing interesting stories, well-developed characters and giving new faces the opportunity to bring those characters alive. The response from audiences has shown us that this approach is working, and Deadline’s win further validates that the content team is moving in the right direction. It is encouraging to see quality content find its audience, and it pushes us to keep raising the bar on the stories and talent we bring to BULLET Microdrama.”

With its National Winner title, Deadline will now progress to the international round of judging, competing alongside National Winners from across the Asia-Pacific region. The next stage comes as BULLET enters its second year with a growing slate and continues to build at the intersection of content and technology, exploring how mobile-first storytelling can create new opportunities for writers, performers and creators. Deadline’s achievement in the inaugural Best Micro-Drama category marks an important moment not just for the title, but for BULLET’s first year of building and shaping its proposition within the emerging microdrama space.
