Chennai, March, 2026: CHOSEN By Dermatology, a Chennai based dermatologist-led skincare and haircare brand built for skin of colour, marked its sixth anniversary with the CHOSEN Sixer Conclave bringing together leading voices across business and film along with its own consumer community. More than a celebratory milestone, the event functioned as a live demonstration of the brand’s core strategy, placing its users at the centre of both storytelling and product experience.
Hosted by actor and television presenter Ramya Subramanian, the evening brought together members of the CHOSEN community, the CHOSEN Ones, dermatologists, entrepreneurs, industry voices, and cultural personalities for an event that reflected exactly what the brand has always stood for: science, community, and the refusal to be ordinary. The event was also graced by notable guests Aditya Ram (Founder, Chairman & MD of Adityaram Group), I. Paranthamen (MLA, Egmore Constituency), RJ Balaji (Filmmaker) and Vishnu Vijay (Actor).
The evening opened with a welcome address by Ramya Subramanian, who reflected on CHOSEN’s growth from a dermatologist-led startup into a trusted science-backed skincare brand with a strong and engaged consumer community. Dr. Renita Rajan, Founder, CHOSEN by Dermatology, followed with a keynote highlighting the brand’s milestones over the past six years and said, “I think about skincare as longevity. Your skin is a living organ, and how you treat it in your twenties and thirties determines how it performs in your forties and fifties.”
Six years on from a pandemic launch with three founding products, CHOSEN now has 70,000+ users and is trusted and prescribed by over 1,600 dermatologists across India. The brand has grown from a single dermatologist’s conviction into a full skincare, haircare, and nutraceuticals ecosystem, consistently anticipating industry shifts from exposome science to ingredient minimalism—before they became mainstream conversations.
The evening featured a diverse line-up of speakers and performers. Stand-up comedian Vikkals Vikram delivered a high-energy comedy set, followed by a keynote by Suresh Sambandam, Founder and CEO of Kissflow, who shared perspectives on the evolving role of artificial intelligence and its implications for businesses and individuals.
A panel discussion titled “Your Greatest Cheerleader” explored the role of support systems and partnerships in personal and professional growth. The conversation featured entrepreneurs CK Kumaravel and Veena Kumaravel, Founders of Naturals Beauty Salon, Surendran Jayasekar, Founder and CEO, Success Gyan and curator of global personal growth platforms, Shiny Surendran, Sports Dietician and Founder, Art of Eating LLP along with actor Dushara Vijayan. The discussion reflected on the people, partnerships and communities that enable individuals to grow and succeed.
The evening concluded with a special guest appearance by actor, filmmaker and radio personality RJ Balaji, who delivered an interactive talk that combined humour, storytelling and motivational insights.
Eight Products. One Community.
The product launch segment celebrated eight loved products launched this year alongside one new announcement. Each product was revealed with a 30-second film, followed by a handover from a celebrity to a CHOSEN One – a format that put the community at the centre of every moment. Products launched span skincare, haircare, body care, and nutraceuticals, including the announcement of White Pine® Pomegranate – a first-of-its-kind systemic supplement for hyperpigmentation in skin of colour, backed by a clinical pilot study showing significant melanin reduction in Indian adults within four weeks.
A Brand That Publishes Its Science
CHOSEN by Dermatology is among a rare group of Indian skincare brands that actively contributes to peer-reviewed clinical literature. Published studies include work on the Sculpt Serum, India’s first clinically validated jawline contouring serum, and research on allergen presence in sunscreens. Studies on collagen dosing and the White Pine® Pomegranate formulation are currently in the pipeline.
The brand’s sunscreen range, which went through over 700 formulation trials, uses only UV filters with the highest safety credentials – free from endocrine disruptors and phthalates.
