This Raksha Bandhan, Gurseerat, a special educator and disability advocate navigating life with hearing loss, and Maahir, a creative neurodivergent creator with autism, came together with Apsara a simple thought: to spread joy, celebrate creativity and form new bonds with children from a special school.
Gurseerat expressed herself through heartfelt handwritten letters, while Maahir brought his creativity to life through handmade rakhis. What followed was a celebration filled with creativity, conversations, smiles and new connections.
Apsara became a small but meaningful part of their celebration. Maahir created the handmade rakhis using Apsara’s Matt Magic Pencils, while Gurseerat expressed herself through heartfelt handwritten letters using Apsara Zesta Scented Pens. The initiative was rooted in the belief that Raksha Bandhan is not just about celebrating existing relationships, but also about creating new ones through kindness, inclusion and shared experiences. Apsara’s role was to be a part of this meaningful moment while keeping Gurseerat, Maahir, the children and their creative expressions at the heart of the story.
“In a world where children are more connected digitally than ever before, perhaps what they are really seeking is a connection that feels human. And that’s exactly what Gurseerat and Maahir created ; bringing children together through creativity, expression and the simple joy of reaching out to one another. What makes this especially beautiful is that these new bonds were created straight from the heart. We are incredibly happy that Apsara could play a small part in bringing this beautiful thought to life. For us, it is a reminder that creativity isn’t just about making something; sometimes, it is about creating a connection that stays with you.” Aishwarya Shinod – CMO, Hindustan Pencils
