Crowd Sourced Ideas for Promoting Tourism in Telangana solicited through a unique Public Speaking Challenge

Hyderabad, September 8, 2026: What if the next big idea to promote Telangana Tourism is not in a government file, a boardroom or an advertising agency—but in the mind of an ordinary citizen?

Media Junction is putting that question to the public by organising a unique “Public Speaking Challenge – Your Ideas for Promoting Tourism in Telangana” on Saturday, September 19, in Hyderabad.

Media Junction, the city-based centre for Public Speaking, invites Telangana citizens to pitch their tourism ideas in a unique Public Speaking Challenge.  This unique challenge is planned on the eve of the World Tourism Day to be observed on September 27, 2026.

The challenge is simple. Participants get just three minutes. Three minutes to tell Telangana how to attract more tourists, create new tourism experiences, promote lesser-known destinations or present the state to the world in a completely different way.

There is no entry fee, no requirement for professional speaking experience and no restriction on the subject other than one: the idea must contribute to promoting Telangana Tourism.

And there is an interesting twist. The winner may not be the person who speaks the best—but the person who has the most interesting idea. The competition is open to an unusually broad age group of 15 to 70 years from any walks of life.  The participants need not be from Travel and Tourism.  They are also welcome.  Besides them people from different walks of life, tourists, travellers, the tourism and travel industry enthusiasts are welcome to participate.

A teenager may have an idea that a tourism professional has never considered. A senior citizen may have a completely different perspective on Telangana’s heritage, culture and destinations. A student may understand social media better than an advertising agency. A traveller may know what is missing from the visitor experience.

Media Junction wants to hear all of them. The best three speakers will receive cash prizes of ₹5,000, ₹3,000 and ₹2,000. But the organisers say the real objective is not the prize money. The best ideas will be compiled and shared with the Tourism Department, Government of Telangana.

“This is not merely a public speaking competition. It is an invitation to citizens to participate in the conversation on the future of Telangana Tourism especially on the eve of World Tourism Day. We want people to ask themselves one question: If I had three minutes with the people responsible for promoting Telangana Tourism, what would I tell them?” said Mrs. D. Kalpana, the Director of Media Junction.

Participants can propose ideas around heritage tourism, nature tourism, weekend getaways, food tourism, adventure tourism, rural tourism, culture, festivals, films, social media, influencers, technology, tourism experiences or completely new ways of presenting Telangana.

The competition will be conducted in two batches: 10:00 AM – 1:00 PM
2:00 PM – 5:00 PM.  The venue for the challenge will Media Junction, Musheerabad, Hyderabad.  Participants must register in advance and can indicate their preferred time slot while registering.
