CyberPeace Collaborates with Haryana Police to Launch Cyber First Responder Program to Strengthen AI Safety and Cybersecurity Awareness

Haryana, 30 September 2025: CyberPeace Foundation, in collaboration with Haryana Police, today launched the Cyber First Responder Program at Indradhanush Auditorium, Panchkula, Haryana. The initiative is a step in building cyber resilience among netizens and law enforcement agencies in the face of growing digital threats and AI-driven cybercrimes.

The program was held in the presence of Smt. Rekha Sharma, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Haryana, Former Chairperson, National Commission for Women who was present as the Guest of Honour.; Dr. Veerendra Kr Mishra, IPS, Assistant Inspector General of Police & Emeritus Resource Faculty; Sh Shibas Kaviraj,

IPS, Commissioner of Police, Panchkula, were among the key dignitaries along with senior officials from Haryana Police present at the event. The day-long event featured keynote addresses, awareness sessions, and technical workshops aimed at equipping stakeholders with practical tools to combat phishing, identity theft, ransomware, and AI-powered impersonation.

Smt. Rekha Sharma, Member of Parliament, Rajya Sabha, Haryana, Former Chairperson, National Commission for Women, said, “Today’s CyberPeace Initiative was not just a training; it was a movement that united students, citizens, and law enforcement in cyber solidarity. From nukkad nataks to awareness vans, the outreach was both creative and inclusive. As AI-driven threats grow, cybersecurity must become a shared responsibility. The government stands committed to enabling digital resilience and empowering every citizen to prevent and not just react to cybercrime.”

Virendar Mishra, IPS, Haryana Police, said, “With 65% of India’s population under 35, our youth are both the most connected and the most vulnerable. Cybersecurity and AI safety must be embedded in everyday awareness. Through initiatives like these and organizations like CyberPeace, we are building a generation of digital defenders that is alert, informed, and resilient.”

Vineet Kumar, Founder & Global President of CyberPeace, said, “Cyber threats are evolving rapidly, and AI is amplifying their scale and sophistication. Through this initiative, we aim to empower both citizens and law enforcement personnel with the knowledge and tools to act as first responders in the digital space. CyberPeace is committed to building a safer cyberspace for all.”

As an official Pre-Summit event to the India-AI Impact Summit 2026, the Cyber First Responder Programme was hosted by CyberPeace Foundation in collaboration with Haryana Police. The event brought together citizens, students, policymakers, law enforcement, and industry leaders to strengthen digital literacy, bridge AI knowledge gaps, and promote responsible technology adoption for public good.

The initiative featured training modules on digital safety practices and AI risk mitigation strategies. A special session titled “Cyber Hygiene – Simple Everyday Habits to Stay Safe Online” equipped everyday users with practical tools to stay secure online. This was followed by a technical workshop for law enforcement personnel, focused on cybercrime response and digital threat management.

The Cyber First Responder Programme is part of CyberPeace’s broader mission to build collective resilience against cyber threats and warfare. It reflects a growing recognition of the need for proactive cybersecurity at both institutional and individual levels. It is a component of the CyberPeace Corps, a volunteer-led initiative run in collaboration with Google.org, empowers citizens to act as the first line of defense, turning awareness into real-world action. This program was also marked as a Pre-courser to India AI Summit 2026, themed around Welfare for All, Happiness of All; spotlighting AI safety and community-level cybersecurity.
