Curiosity will always make our life more interesting. Dabur Meswak toothpaste encourages the travel influencer Meenakshi Arvind to go on a trip to search for a tree called, of all things, ‘Miswak tree’.

Dabur Meswak is a herbal toothpaste used for sensitive teeth. Here comes a statement from Dabur’s website about Dabur Meswak “it is a scientifically formulated herbal toothpaste with pure extract of the Miswak plant ‘Salvadore Persica’. The astringent and anti-bacterial properties of Meswak help reduce tooth decay, fight plaque, and prevent gum diseases. Miswak is a rare, potent, priceless, wonder herb that delivers incredible dental care benefits.” It’s also a nod to India’s high interest in Ayurvedic products and offerings because the Coronavirus pandemic has made all of us take stock of our health and well-being. However, even before the pandemic itself, India is highly interested in using herbal products so as ayurvedic products.

Meenakshi Arvind says that the toothpaste is made from a rare tree known to grow in South Asia and Africa. She also says that her grandmother told her about a “similar tree called Uga Maram (Tamil) that grows in Tamil Nadu. Finding the Miswak tree was no easy feat as Meenakshi Aravind told that they researched a lot, asked many people, but no one seems to know. But, she finally found a person who provided reliably as well as convincing information about the Uga tree and asked her to move to Ramanathapuram in Tamil Nadu so that from there she could find Miswak. And then turns out there is a Miswak Nagar. A resident Sahul Hameed revealed that he named the area as ‘Miswak Nagar’ after which he found out about the tree.

It’s an interesting ad that makes us so curious about the roots of the toothpaste, by taking us there and far away from normal toothbrush ads we’re so used with to be watching on TV, or online.

Earlier, in association with Ogilvy, Dabur had released a campaign where they brought back Chaubeyji, who is seen eating raw amla, haldi, and ginger to improve his immunity. After which Chaubeyji credits Dabur Red Paste for his that many powerful teeth which lets him chew all the raw ingredients to gain much more immunity.
