Danone India Sets Asia Book Of Records Milestone With 20,911 HCP Pledges To Help Combat Anemia

Chennai: Danone India sets the Asia Book of Records milestone for achieving ‘Maximum Healthcare Professionals Pledged to Combat Iron Deficiency Anemia’ – 20,911 pledges across India. This landmark achievement reflects Danone’s collective effort to enhance awareness, encourage early diagnosis, and promote effective nutritional interventions to address iron deficiency and anemia. The initiative underscores the importance of collaborative action in tackling micronutrient deficiencies and advancing public health outcomes. 

In November 2025, Danone India launched the ‘IRON UP!’, a national wide initiative to accelerate detection and prevention of Iron Deficiency Anemia (IDA) across the country. As part of the initiative, Danone has launched the IDA Pledge Campaign, calling on healthcare professionals across India to commit to raising awareness, improving timely diagnosis and promoting preventive nutrition. This collective effort aims to build a strong, unified movement within the medical community to help families understand and act on iron deficiency every day.

The campaign Iron Up initiative engaged pediatricians, general physicians, and other healthcare professionals across India through educational outreach, and on-ground initiatives. By mobilizing the medical community, Danone India aims to accelerate efforts toward increasing awareness on iron deficiency and improving quality of life, especially among vulnerable populations. As part of its science-led nutrition approach, Danone India continues to advance solutions such as IronBiotics, designed with essential nutrients that support iron absorption and gut health, reinforcing its commitment to addressing iron deficiency and anemia at scale.

Along with the IronUp initiative, Danone India has also launched Swastha Mata Swastha Balak, year-long program in Bihar, which is designed to improve maternal nutrition, enhance awareness, and drive better health outcomes for both mothers and their babies. The programme is part of Danone’s focused efforts to combat Iron Deficiency Anemia among pregnant women and infants.
