New Delhi, September 29, 2025 – At just 12 years old, Arshdeep Singh, an enthusiastic MYP 2 student and Water Ambassador at DPS International (DPSI), Gurgaon, is leading a sustainability revolution inspired by his transformative visit to the prestigious Water Expo 2025. Held at Pragati Maidan, New Delhi, this expo is South Asia’s largest platform dedicated to innovations in water and wastewater management. Engaging with global exhibitors showcasing cutting-edge water technologies, Arshdeep has sparked a wave of innovation among his peers, turning expo insights into actionable projects to combat India’s pressing water challenges.
Motivated by the innovative products and solutions presented at the expo, Arshdeep and his fellow Water Ambassadors at DPSI are pioneering a series of school-based projects that are a reflection of applied eco-innovation. Their projects will include the design of water bottles with filters built in to purify dirty water in an instance, the adoption of a new nano bubble technology that increases oxygen levels and overall water quality in ponds and lakes, and the promotion of Zerodor waterless urinals as a water-saving eco-wise alternative to traditional sanitation approaches.
This endeavor reflects DPSI’s commitment to developing youth who are environmentally aware and work on community action on a larger scale that challenges global changes to the planet. Grounded in the school’s philosophy of “service before self” and its attention to sustainability as an area of learning within the IB MYP program, DPSI encourages students to be changemakers through practical project-based work and initiatives in the community.
“Arshdeep and our Water Ambassadors embody the spirit of innovation and responsibility,” mentioned Head of DPS International, Ms. Rima Singh. “We are incredibly proud of Arshdeep’s enthusiasm and leadership. His experience at Water Expo 2025 has empowered him and our Water Ambassadors to actively contribute towards sustainable water practices in their community.
The Water Expo 2025 not only acted as a forum for professionals and government representatives to exchange ideas, but it also emphasized the importance of the younger generation taking action in the role of stewards of water conservation and sustainability. As water scarcity continues to be a pressing issue, efforts such as those led by the Water Ambassadors at DPSI highlight the role of education and active participation in building solutions for a sustainable tomorrow.
By converting expo breakthroughs into real-world solutions, DPSI students are demonstrating that age is not a factor when it comes to making an impact. The school intends to display these prototypes at a sustainability fair and open their mission to the community.
