Bengaluru, February 2026: In a moment that reflects this growing global ambition, the city’s cocktail scene is about to witness a major international moment as KICO hosts Agung Prabowo of PENICILLIN, Hong Kong, ranked No. 27 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars, for an exclusive one-night-only takeover. Taking place on Wednesday, 18 February at 8.30pm, the evening brings one of Asia’s most influential bartenders to the city, setting the stage for a high-impact showcase of contemporary craft and global bar culture. Co-curated by The National Drink Project, the collaboration brings one of Asia’s most respected bartenders behind the bar at KICO for an immersive showcase of craft, sustainability and contemporary mixology.
After the global success of The Old Man in Hong Kong and Singapore, Agung co-founded PENICILLIN in late 2020 with his partner Laura Prabowo. Inspired by the farm-to-table movement, PENICILLIN is celebrated as Hong Kong’s first sustainable bar, built on a closed-loop production model that minimises waste and champions thoughtful sourcing. In 2021, the bar received the Asia’s 50 Best Sustainable Bar Award and has continued to gain recognition across the region, currently ranked No. 27 on Asia’s 50 Best Bars.
Agung Prabowo, a Jakarta native with over two decades of global bartending experience, is widely recognised for redefining modern cocktail culture in Asia. Over the course of his career, he has represented Hong Kong on international stages, earned multiple industry accolades, and been named among the world’s most influential figures in the drinks industry. He is also the recipient of the Industry Icon Award by Asia’s 50 Best Bars.
For its Bengaluru debut, PENICILLIN will present a curated cocktail experience that reflects Agung’s philosophy of innovation grounded in purpose. Guests can expect inventive serves that balance flavour, technique and sustainability, brought to life in KICO’s intimate, community-led setting.
