Mumbai, October 2025: Late Checkout*, Mumbai’s favourite cocktail-forward bar by Chrome Asia Hospitality, is set to participate at Bar Convent Berlin this October, one of the world’s largest International Bar & Beverage Trade Show. To mark the occasion, the team will make their Berlin debut with a one-night-only bar takeover at Fabelei on 5th October, an exclusive showcase of Late Checkout’s cocktails and cutting-edge mixology, bringing a bold new expression of India’s cocktail culture to the heart of Berlin.
The upcoming takeover at Fabelei will showcase some of Late Checkout’s most talked-about creations, No Closure, Main Character Energy, The Old Me, Nutty by Nature, and Missing Trust Fund, each cocktail carrying the bar’s trademark blend of bold flavours, playful storytelling, and Indian influences reimagined through modern techniques.
Pawan Shahri, Co-founder Late Checkout*, will personally be behind the bar for the takeover in Berlin, bringing the bar’s signature flavors and storytelling to life – offering Berlin guests a first-hand experience of Late Checkout’s globally recognized mixology program
Since its inception, Late Checkout has built a reputation for redefining India’s cocktail culture, not just within its walls but across the globe. Most recently, the bar represented India internationally with takeovers in New York at Dear Irving and The Ned Nomad, marking a significant milestone for Indian mixology on one of the world’s most competitive cocktail stages. This followed previous collaborations including a guest shift at Native, Singapore, and hosting some of the world’s most celebrated bars back home in Mumbai, Origin (Singapore), Paradiso (Barcelona, #1 on The World’s 50 Best Bars 2022), and The Brook Bar (Gurgaon).
Pawan Shahri, Co-Founder of Chrome Asia Hospitality adds, “After an incredible run in New York, where we introduced audiences to our playful, cocktail program, we are now stepping into Berlin, a city that sets the tone for global bar culture. To be present at Bar Convent Berlin that brings together some of the most influential voices in global mixology and to also host our own takeover at Fabelei in the same week is a proud milestone. In many ways, it feels like we’re literally taking over the world one city at a time, bringing with us not just cocktails, but a fresh perspective on what Indian mixology can be.”
With Berlin on the horizon, Late Checkout continues to expand its global footprint, taking Indian cocktail culture to new cities and audiences while reinforcing its position as one of the country’s most forward-thinking bars.
