On 13th October 2026 – In the wake of the devastating earthquake in Panama, I extend my heartfelt solidarity to the people of Panama and express my deepest concern for everyone affected by this difficult situation. During moments of uncertainty and hardship, our thoughts are with the families who have been impacted, the communities facing disruption, and all those working tirelessly to protect lives and provide assistance. Panama is not alone in this challenging hour; the international community stands with its people in a spirit of compassion, unity and shared humanity.
The people of Panama have the right to face this moment with hope, dignity and confidence in the future. I urge everyone to stand together, support one another and extend a helping hand to those in need. In times of crisis, humanity must rise above borders, differences and divisions, reminding the world that solidarity is our greatest strength.
I also call upon governments, international organizations, humanitarian agencies and global institutions to stand firmly alongside Panama and provide appropriate assistance wherever needed. Coordinated emergency response, humanitarian support, technical expertise and international cooperation can make a meaningful difference in protecting communities and strengthening recovery efforts.
