GIGX Live is excited to announce the debut India Tour of internationally acclaimed, genre-defying sitarist and vocalist Ronobir Lahiri, set for February 2026. Based in Los Angeles, he has developed a globally recognised sound that fuses the sitar with modern tracks and his own vocals, blending Indian classical technique with electronic, ambient, and pop-influenced textures to create a contemporary musical experience.
This marks Ronobir’s first multi-city concert tour in India and a meaningful return to the country where he began his 30-year musical journey in Kolkata under Sri Deepak Choudhuri, a direct disciple of Pandit Ravi Shankar. He has performed at world-class venues, including the Hollywood Bowl and collaborated with international artists, contributing to Katy Perry’s track “Legendary Lovers” from the Grammy-nominated album Prism and to Ziggy Marley’s Fly Rasta, notably the track “Sunshine.”
His projects, including Hypnosis: Deep House Sitar and Redemption Sitar, along with his viral reinterpretations of global classics like Still D.R.E. and Redemption Song, and a variety of other celebrated works, have cultivated a dedicated global audience drawn to his fresh and accessible approach to music.
Ronobir Lahiri, speaking ahead of his debut India Tour, said, “Returning to India for my first-ever tour with GIGX Live is an incredibly meaningful milestone in my journey. This is where my musical path began, and I am thrilled to perform live across multiple cities, connect with audiences, and share the energy with my music.”
The tour will begin with four cities: Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, and Goa, with additional locations to be announced. Each performance promises to showcase Ronobir’s distinctive style, blending classical tradition, sitar, vocals, and modern sounds to deliver a truly contemporary musical experience.
