Google Pay makes life easier: Introduces tap to pay option

Google pay has added a ‘tap to pay’ option for SBI card users in India. Google Pay is a digital wallet platform in which the customers can make online payments through android devices.  

Google pay is developed by Google, so it is trusted and the new platform for making the online payment will be safer and more evident. Recently, the State Bank of India has allied with google pay and initiated a new option for the customers to use their cards on Google pay. Users can make digital payment in three modes;  

  • Tap and pay at Near Field Communication (NFC)  
  • Online payments without using a physical credit card  
  • Scanning QR code  

This feature will provide users to scan and pay at more than 1.5 million Bharat QR enabled merchants and the bill payments can be made using their card through Google Pay.  

For enabling this feature, the users should enter their card details and follow it by entering the One Time Password (OTP) they receive from their bank so that they can add their card to the Google Pay app.  

In addition to these, Google pay also rewards coupons, vouchers, tickets, discounts, etc to the customers. Through referrals, Google pays users can earn from this. Some of the services provided by google pay include, the bill payment on electricity, water, and phone recharge facility is also available.  

Nowadays the majority have Google pay on their android devices. It is very reliable and easy to use for customers. The new model is initiated with an intension to provide a better experience, service, and safe payments for the customers.  

Google Pay is highly secured and physical authentications such as fingerprint ID where available. On devices without a fingerprinting facility, it can be activated with a passcode. Unified Payments Interface (UPI), it’s a payment system where the fund can be transferred from banks through online banking. It is created by the users so that the payment could be safer. A screen lock is required to be set on the phone. 

Ashwini Kumar Tewari, the Managing Director and CEO of SBI Card stated that the partnership with Google Pay opens a door for the customers to make safe and secure payments easily by sitting in their homes.
