India, 16th September 2026: Grip Invest today announced the successful conclusion of the Great Indian Bond Festival (GIBF), a two-week campaign aimed at accelerating education and awareness among retail investors in the fixed-income market. The initiative, which closed on September 4, drew participation from 2.7 lakh customers and marked a sharp rise in first-time bond investors.
Investment activity recorded 86.8% growth during the campaign period, with investments made across 122 bonds on Grip Invest. 43% of investors made more than one investment within the festival period showing high engagement.
The response comes as fixed-income investments gain greater traction among retail investors, with bonds increasingly being considered as part of a well-diversified investment portfolio. India’s corporate bond market, valued at over ₹59 lakh crore, presents significant scope for further retail participation as awareness and access to the asset class continue to expand.
Commenting on the campaign, Nikhil Aggarwal, Founder and Group CEO, Grip Invest, said, “The response to the Great Indian Bond Festival shows that retail investors value fixed income as part of their investment portfolios. They are only limited by awareness of options that exist and a better understanding of risks and returns. The data from the festival gives us a useful indication of how investors are approaching the asset class and where further opportunities exist to deepen retail participation.”
The festival brought together stakeholders from across the fixed-income ecosystem, with NSE as Venue Partner and NSDL as Depository Partner, alongside Tata Neu, ET Money, MobiKwik, Compound Express (DSP Group) Elevest by InsuranceDekho and UGRO Capital as ecosystem partners. The campaign was launched at the NSE Atrium in Mumbai and saw a panel discussion with Ms. Maninder Cheema, Executive Director, SEBI and Mr. Saravanan Krishnamurthy, Chief General Manager, SEBI on the regulatory actions being taken to create a growing and sustainable bond market for retail investors.
Vaibhav Laddha, CEO of Grip Invest, said, “The response to the Great Indian Bond Festival reinforces our belief that the next phase of India’s fixed-income market will be driven by greater retail participation. The 300% increase in first-time bond investors on Grip during the festival is a strong signal of this shift. Our focus now is to convert this interest into sustained participation by improving access, simplifying the investment journey and bringing fixed income closer to the way retail investors already invest. With the second edition in 2027, GIBF will evolve into an annual platform for building awareness and participation in India’s corporate bond market.”
Grip Invest has announced the launch of the 2nd edition of The Great Indian Bond Festival in 2027 as an annual platform to build greater awareness around fixed-income investing and support wider participation in India’s bond market.
