Healthium Medtech announces the launch of its latest manufacturing facility at the Rohisa Industrial Estate, Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad, 09 December 2021: Healthium Medtech Limited (“Company” or “Healthium Medtech”), a global medical devices company focused on surgical, post-surgical and chronic care, today announced the launch of its latest manufacturing facility in Ahmedabad. The facility owned by Uteshiya Medicare, is located at the Rohisa Industrial Estate, and has been licenced by Healthium Medtech to exclusively manufacture its wide range of Arthroscopy products marketed under the brand “Sironix”.   The CDSCO certified facility is spread across 70,000 sq ft.

Healthium Medtech is India’s largest independent medical devices company and second-largest company overall, in the surgical consumables market , the  largest non-captive surgical needles manufacturer globally, by volume and the third-largest company overall in the urology collection devices market in the U.K as of fiscal 2021 .As on 31st March, 2021, one in five surgeries conducted globally, uses a Healthium product.

Healthium Medtech currently operates across eight integrated and scaled manufacturing facilities, several of which have global accreditations and registrations including US FDA, CE, ISO and TGA .Of these, seven are located in India spread across Karnataka, Uttar Pradesh, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and now Gujarat, and one in China. Healthium was the 1st Class III medical device company in India to receive a US FDA registration for one of its facilities. The Ahmedabad facility was inaugurated by Shri. Arjunsinh Chauhan, Hon’able Minister for Rural Housing & Development.

Arthroscopy products are used to help treat various knee and shoulder conditions such as anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction, posterior cruciate ligament injuries and other ligament reconstruction and repair and meniscal repair.

As per Frost & Sullivan report, the Indian arthroscopy devices market was valued at US$ 18.9 million in 2020, and estimated to reach US$ 47.1 million by 2025, implying a CAGR (2021-2025) of 18.6%.

Arthroscopy accounts for 15-17% of total orthopaedic procedures carried out in India, and is one of the fastest growing orthopaedic procedures. The volume of arthroscopy procedures conducted, is likely to triple in the next 5-6 years. Key drivers for growth of procedures include a growing base of arthroscopy centres and practicing specialists.
